It is believed that one ounce of wheat grass juice is as nutrionally valuable as one kilo gram of green vegetables. Moreover wheatgrass claims to improve the digestive system. It is beneficial during constipation. It helps preventing cancer, heart dieases and is also good for diabetic patients. It detoxifies heavy metals from the bloodstream. Basically its good for the general well-being. Sometimes its freshly juiced or dried into powder for animal and human consumption.

What Aslan said is all true plus - having a wheatgrass shot can give you as much vitamins as 2 pounds of vegetables, and probably more choloryphyll (the plant blood). Because it is often juiced and drank fresh it is said to be a "living" food and full of enzymes for you.
You need a special juicer for it - I got a samson juicer off e-bay, these are now called compact and this is one of the cheaper electrical wheatgrass juicers - it will also juice all other fruit and veges and homogonise veges, herbs (like garlic), make hummus and pesto etc.
YOu can also get manual juicers - some look like those meat mincers - they are stel, and i have seen a cheaper plastic one.
Many juice bars also sell it which might be the best option when first starting out, because it could be easier, and then if you decide to keep going with it you can buy the juicer.
I have found you can also buy the grass so if you have the juicer and haven't the time to grow the grass you can keep the grass in the fridge for the week and juice it on demand. One tip drink it before or between meals, not soon afterwards, as it is very cleansing.
I have heard it also helps people give up smoking if they drink wheat grass juice during the day. As well as the cancer cure..

It grows in north prairies and it can stand dry and cold. I don't know much of them. I believe it looks like the wheat and grows as the wheat.
