I was looking at some of my old discussions about a year old and found quite a few that had no responses but I still want other peoples opinions on. I think its OK to start another discussion on the same topic now so I can get opinions. Is this OK or is it against MyLot terms. I cannot respond to my own discussions to try to get them active, but I hope I can start a new one on the same subject with a little more thought and hopefully this time people will respond.
Is this right for me to do?
Do let me know your opinions.
Remember these discussions are some I started 6-12 months ago!

No your not to start the same discussion over again. But, you can try to put a bit of a new spin on it and then post it. I have not ever seen discussions like that get deleted. But you have to be sure to not just copy it word per word, that will get deleted.
OR
(the one I prefer)
You can send them to a friend and ask them to put a reply on it and give them a kick start. When your posts get a reply it tosses them back into "recent discussions" and sometimes that does the trick. It kind of breath's new life into.

I think starting a new one on the same subject with more thought would be fine. No one will notice anyways. Or else I've seen people start a discussion asking people to go back and answer their discussions that got no responses. Usually if you start a discussion like that most of your discussions will get responses to them. The thing is though I think that mylot only pays you for a discussion you start the day you start it, so you would be better off just starting a new discussion on the same subject.

Ack! Unfortunately that is a no-no. It says directly in the TOS that you cannot start a new discussion for the sole purpose of drawing attention to an old one. You can't ask people directly to go back and answer an old discussion. But this brings up a good discussion for myself. I now realize that people have done just that, but only some of them get deleted. Ooh, I'm off to start one!!!

I do not think so. The only way is to change it around a bit, and make it seem as if it is a new question. Also one thing is to get more people to join in that particular interest and hope that someone goes to your profile and look through your no responses to see if they can answer it. And mentioning it here ensures that someone will go to your profile and see what ones can they answer. You could also send a message to your friends and see if any of them. I think in that case, you can give them the link, but not too sure on that one.

This is a grey area in the Mylot TOS. It says that you aren't allowed to repost a discussion you have already started in order to get more responses; but I believe that means simultaneously. I also think it means that you can't repost it over and over again in every interest that it may fit in blah-blah-blah, because that's spamming. I will tell you that I have reposted a discussion once or twice since I have been here, mostly because I put it in the wrong interest, or I typed in something wrong. Once I even wrote MyLot myself and let them know that I did this, and wanted the previous one deleted. They never did delete any of them, even the one that I asked them to. So I believe that if it has been a while, and/or you are moving it to a new interest that fits it better, its allowed.

I think if you give it a new title and reword it and expand it, you should be fine. Most people change a bit in 6-12 months, so you might have some new ideas or insight.
