I was walking my niece to her tae kwon do lesson yesterday afternoon. We have to cross a pretty busy street to get her there. We must have been standing there about 5 - 10 minutes. Cars just zooming on by. None of them slowing down or stopping to let us pass. Then finally a semi driver stops to let us pass. I know its not a big deal to some, but someone does something like that I feel pretty good inside.

Was it a big, black one with a dragon painted on the side? Just wondered. It could have been my dad! :-)

No, he didn't. He is a semi-retired trucker who now drives for a company called "Truk Rodz" by Jones Performance in Pennsylvania. He was just in MO delivering a custom hood for the Trick My Truck show. They donated a lot of hoods to the show. He actually got to be filmed for an upcoming show! What a trip! He's having a blast driving the "pimped" up trucks. It even throws flames.

Hi know!
Yes it certainly is very rare nowadsys that people stop and let you cross the road or open doors for you.
I tend to do it when I'm driving and I also let other cars who maybe stood still in the middle of the road wanting to turn in front of me into a side road. i very often slow down flash to let them know they can turn and usually the are not expecting that.
Where i live I am lucky that I have very pleasant people as neighbours in the block of flats and if I arrive overloaded with bags of shopping and someone has just entered the main door they will hold it open for me too. Really nice and very welcome too!
Thes occasions are few and far between compared with years ago - progress I presume
