I am in 2 minds about the USA position with Georgia, from one side i think that the Georgian president made a mistake in provoking Russia, on the other side I think that Georgia have been invaded and they proved to be an ally of USA and should have got more help, possibly some tanks sent in to protect the population. What you think?

There is a saying that perfectly describes this situation. "You made your bed, now lay in it." If Georgia wants war then let them fight their own battle.
Why should innocent people from another country risk their life for something someone else has done?

Why, so the world can talk about how evil we are and how much we can't stay out of other countries affairs? Honestly, I'm tired of helping the world out. the world is largely ungrateful and hates us no matter what we do anyways. We have already been bashed for not doing more for Georgia and we have been bashed for what little we have done already. Then there are those who were blaming us for the whole mess to begin with when the news first broke. Sorry world, find another sap to use and kick around.

I don't think anyone else should get involved in their dispute. If the US jumped in to aid Georgia, then more countries would jump in as well possibly. Why make a conflict bigger? I don't think anyone is in the right for fighting, it's the dumbest thing ever, so many people have already lost their lives. If we sent tanks in as well, there would be an all out war, the US already has a hard time with Russia with tension already being there, why continue to make things worse in this world. And to be honest, America cannot afford another war, it's breaking us.
