Assigment Is disk diffusion and disc plate method the same?

i'm not quite sure if both of these method in microbiology has the same principle and or procedure, can someone here on mylot, try to help me out? whether, disc plate method and disk diffusion method are the same? if not, can you tell me how they are different to each other? i tried reading books to find an answer unfortunately, i couldn't find anything about the disc plate method, so i research over the net and couldn't find anything that may relate to this topic, although, 2 of my professors already assured me that it's the same...still i need to know what the real answer is, please help me out...thanks
