Hey my son has had multiple allergies, many life threatening, since the day he was born although wasn't diagnosed till he was 8months as nobody believed us!
Anyway now attends very good clinic but remains a very restricted diet. My issue is that i always feel like people think i make it up, like the allergies are just in my imagination. I AM I PARANOID?????????????

Those people who tell you that you make such things up are nothing but ignorant and inconsiderate selfish individuals. Allergies do exist. It is what we call hypersensitivity to certain foreign allergens or antigens. You are not paranoid. Certain allergies could be life-threatening and should therefore require immediate medical attention. People can go into anaphylactic shocks after a bee sting and that too is a hypersensitivity response.
In conclusion, keep following the advice of your general physician. Know what is best for you and your son and stop listening to others, because they cannot really relate to what you are going through. Have a great day!

Thanks...... Im cool with it 99.9% of the time and my son is totally comfortable with it too but sometimes just need to hear it! I think people believe because its becoming more common that its a bandwagon some have chosen to jump on. Its really only a prob in restaurants etc the waitress looks at me like your child is just spoilt and fussy. I feel like saying if you'd rather serve hime up something of your choice and then you can administer the adrenaline whilst i call and ambulance!!!!

No, don't think about other people. Think about your son and how to give him a better life by preventing things that may cause allergies. They're not the worth to bother with. Remember, it does nothing for your son to get away from his illness. Maybe that's the thing called "mother's touch". Mothers get too paranoid for their son to get better.

Well I think it is well proven that allergies are a very serious and common problem, I guess some people who have never seen it or dealt with this problem find it hard to work out but there is enough around these days to say it is a very common thing.
