I would like to know what do you think of Organic Foods. Why they are so expensive? What can they benefit you?
They had helped me not to suffer heartburn anymore and lose weight, but they cost a lot of money. Do you have any ideas to get them in bargain price?
I learned that organic foods will help many health issues. Also they taste better. I always prefer buy organic meat and dairy products because of hormones, steroid, and antibiotics. Share what your thoughts about organic foods.
You don't have to agree with it, just share your opinion.

It is worth the extra price to me but then I can afford it. My 11 year old daughter is way too well developed and I believe it is due to the growth hormones, etc., in the milk and meat. I wish I had started buying organic sooner. It has helped me with heartburn and my weight too.

I agree with you. I was well developed when I was 9 or 10 due to milk and meat, too. I grew up too fast. I do eat organic foods now but sometimes my money get tighten, I had to buy regular foods for temporary.

Yes, I regularly buy organic foods and pay the price, and I don't even eat meat.
Just the fact that I know chemicals aren't being used on my food is important to me, and the taste is usually very good. Beautiful apples and carrots.
If I ate meat I would definitely be wanting it to be organic for the reasons you state - the antibiotics, steroids and hormones - if the animal isn't healthy who knows what it could pass on to you.
The veggies are probably more nutritious as organic farming uses nutritious soil (from things like composting) to keep veggies healthy and ward off pests, instead of just spraying chemicals everywhere (which also damage the environment and water).
Organic foods cost more as the farming is more labour intensive t look after the soil and use methods like companion planting - you plant certain crops near each other as some plants scare certain pests away from other plants - eg. they say basil and tomatoes are good companions!

You have clear and excellent point about organic foods. I prefer eat organic foods instead regular. If I have more money, all of my foods would be labelled organic only.
There is more reason I prefer organic meats are animals were feed healthy foods and gazing freely and do not suffer too much.

Thanku so much for the best response.
Yes you make a point about the treatment of animals that I agree with (and as you may have guessed I am vegetarian so that is important to me). I have heard your idea before from others that eat organic meat, saying they feel the animals have been treated better.
I definitely know that is true for free-range chickens - they are certainly treated better during life than the poor battery hens.
Yes, I wish everybody could afford to eat organic, I know I often pay the same for groceries as others that eat meat, but not organic. But then I also live more frugally in other areas because I prefer spending my money on my food.
I have sisters with lots of children who could proably not afford to feed everybody organically, even though they probably grow some of their own food, which can be organic. I hope you have the space to grow some yourself as well as this can save you money. You may find some like minded people in your local community who can swap produce with you!

Organic produce are those grown using natural methods, without the use of chemicals or fertilizers. They cost more mainly because of market forces or the law of supply and demand. If organic farmers can get a fair share of the market, I am sure the prices will definitely go down, but until they continue to go head-to-head with traditional producers who can mass produce because of technology and chemicals, we have to contend with expensive organic produce.
I like to think of it this way: it may cost a bit more to use organic goods, but if it will keep me healthy, cut the risk of contracting some disease that will require hospitalization and tons of medication, then it is a worthy investment. Don't you think so?

I definitely agree with you. I am willing to buy them all the time, but sometimes money run out, so I have to buy what I have until money come back for more.

You should try and you will like it a lot. Money issues, try aim to get organic meats and dairy products first. You can buy vegetables at local farm, health food store (most the expensive one), food market, and popular stores such as publix. Although I do try all of them but they are over my budget limit.

I don't know much about organic food, I know that it does cost a little more, but if helps you to lose weight and other stuff, then it might be worth trying. I've been having alot of problems with heartburn lately, I've had to cut some things out of my diet, things that I liked too. So how do they help with heartburn, what do I need to be eating? What has helped you lose weight, I've been trying to do that too. have a good day

Eat one apple everyday, aim to buy all organic meat and diary products. While you are trying to treat your heartburn, avoid triggers foods (spicy foods, tomatoes, high acid foods, etc) . Start eat more fiber (organic foods only that have high fiber in it), you need probiotics at least 6 million living friendly bacteria everyday, and take digestive enzyme living, drink herbal teas such as chamomile and green tea (organic only) , eat at least 50 to 75 percent of raw foods (vegetables and fruits with nuts). First step to get it treat is colon cleanse and follow those diet. Do not try eat sweeties that have sugar in it unless it is organic only that are made with organic sugar, fruit juice, honey, or other natural plant sweet only. It is best to avoid them for temporary until your heartburn is in control.
I had to eat at least two to three apples per day, eat salads, drink smoothie with breakfast, drink herbal teas everyday, avoid sugar too much, and drink water followed by weight. Grapefruit will speed up, too but I hate eating it, so i can take it as tablet instead.

There are many benefits of organic foods. One of the biggest to many people is taste. Organic foods have long been the preferred choice of professional chef for just that reason. Foods that are organic make their creations shine!
Another of the benefits of organic foods is that they are healthier. Organic foods are produced with fewer chemicals, which means you will have fewer chemicals going into your body. Not to mention, organic vegetables have more vitamins and minerals which is great for your body too. A healthier body means fewer medical expenses. Organic meats and produce can only benefit you and your family.
Environmental responsibility is another reason to support organic food producers. Organic farmers spend a great deal of time enriching the soil with natural methods. Healthy soil means healthy plants. Healthy plants produce healthy foods, and healthy foods make a healthy you. Water quality is also preserved though organic practices because there is no chemical runoff to pollute rivers and streams. If all that isn't enough, consider the energy savings. Conventional farming practices use more petroleum than any other industry. Pollution from the production of fertilizers is also reduced when more farmers opt to use organic methods.
Another very important reason to support organic farms is that you are supporting the nation's farmers. Did you know that 650,000 family farms in the United States have been lost in the last ten years? For many farmers, this has meant losing a way of life that has been in their family for generations. For those that have remained, many have turned to organic farming as a last effort to save their family farms.
As you can see, buying organic foods can have far reaching effects on yourself and the country as a whole. Choose organic the next time you go shopping and see for yourself the benefits of organic foods.

I agree with you. Organics are the way to go. We try to buy everything organic. To me the worst thing a parent can do is give their kids food - especially milk and meats - laced with all those hormones.

I was never one who thought organic really mattered but recently I've starting trying organic here and there if it's what's on sale. This started with carrots. I love carrots to begin with but I couldn't believe how much better they taste! Then I also tried organic asparagus and OMG it's so good! My husband said to me that night (not knowing I bought organic) 'this is the best asparagus I've ever had in my life'. Now he wants asparagus several times a week. I'm sure it also has something to do with the fact that I don't overcook it. He actually thought (cause I had cut them up) that they were green beans at first.. it was cute!
I don't think organic really makes a difference and is a waste of money on things with thick skins like lemons and stuff though.
Organic, here we come! One thing I try to do is buy whatever things are on sale for that week to cut down on the costs some. Also going to maybe a farmers market or something would be cheaper then going to the grocery store.

They're more expensive because the farmer is the one selling them, usually, and they're usually getting paid more for their services.
Non-organic farmers get dimes for every dollar worth of work they do more often than not, it's a very miserable business usually...for them to be able to work enough to earn enough money to support themselves.
Organic on the other hand, has no negatives associated with it. Buying organic directly benefits the farmer.
It's slowly becoming less expensive here in the U.S. because non-organic farmers rely heavily on chemicles which're no longer inexpensive. Corporate farming is no longer working.
Since you live in the U.S. you should be able to find local farmers markets and CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture)...which should have plenty of cheap organic food in it since it has less distance to travel (which makes it cheaper!). Growing some of your own food helps alot too.
Alot of stores now, are trying to get more contracts with local and usually organic farmers since it costs them less, AND the consumer less.
It's a slow trend, but it's getting there!
It takes some looking and helps if you're a bit more rural, but other good places to look is flea markets and the amish.

I personally grew up on organics because my family are farming folks. We've grown alot of our own food. Had our own well-water.
I've found that alot of non-organic food can help encourage health problems, but I'm an odd one in that I eat TOO healthy. I have naturally low blood pressure, so if I don't eat something bad every now and again I get dizzy and hurt.
Most people have the exact opposite problem, of course. But it's quite a delimma for me, because I LOVE eating healthy and organic and worry alot about chemicles, genetically modified food, etc.
Hopefully, over the next few years I'm gonna attempt to start my own business growing organic food.

Dear friend,
I too like organic foods. I hope its price varies may be the manures and other inputs used for the products are also much costlier and moreover it is healthy and much better than other. So the quality of this product might be reason for pricing. Still I it benefits the health part much and much of eco-friendly too can be obtained.

I seldom have them. It is launched into to market several years ago and not popular in our country. But I will buy them and give them as present to my parents or grandma. I don't believe it is better but the aged like them because they care their health very much.

Though much expensive than ordinary, they are much healthier since the way that they have grown does not use any chemicals or enhancers which has long-term effects to humans when constantly taken up. In no doubt it has more benefits than the usual ones.

Yea, organic foods are a little bit expensive then regulars. But they taste better and have flavor. They helped my husband not to suffer heartburn also. I buy organic foods like bananas most of the time.

I often contemplate whether or not buying organic is really beneficial. With food prices as high as they are it is hard to spend an extra couple of dollars on an item that looks identical to the norm, other than the 'organic' lable.I feel there is such a prestige factor that comes into play with so many people who swear by organic foods.
