Has anyone seen or heard about Hemp and other "grasses" being used to make fuel? This seems like it would be a pretty lucrative change to our economy to be able to use these easy to grow plants in other ways such as heat, fuel, etc. When will we be able to overcome the OIL and textile lobbys to begin using this technology

I have heard of this, and it is on OK idea. The problem is that burning hemp isn't exactly a clean technology, like electric cars powered by wind energy or solar energy would be, or hydrogen cars. And it would take a lot to set up the infrastructure necessary to get this idea of the ground too. I think that it may be a temporary partial solution, but it should not be an end goal to lessening dependence on oil.
