how does mylot owner earn from the discussions we post?

i just started joining my lot and i have read a lot about eraning a few cents by just posting a comment or starting a discussion. i was referred to this site by a firend and she assures me that it really pays to post here. i was wondering how do the owner of mylot earns in return. imagine, as of today, there are about 140,000 memebers, and i'm pretty sure that most of the memebrs are after the earning that they will get. will they have enugh funds to pay all these members? where do they get the money? just want to know.... thanks....
