Today computer technology is absolutely amazing; Fast processor, stunning 3D graphic card capability, enjoyable sound card & speaker and flat monitor. Really amaze me. Now with those fancy spec, I have to ask my self a simple question: have I use all tech inside my PC or I only use some of them to complete my daily computer activities. And I think I waste most of those fancy technology as I only use my PC to write a book and to use mylot. I wonder, what about you?

My PC is always in the midstream level. I do a lot of things on my pc and I make the most out of my pc power. From processor intensive applications to games, movies, sounds , word processing, programming and more. It's advantage to have real good hardware as it can handle more programs and runs them efficiently. The only real problem about computer hardware is it's cost and how fast it gets updated. The competition in specific markets are intense and new technologies appear quickly and catching up to those isn't easy nor cheap. I always go for midstream as it's fairly cheap and fairly powerful. Coping up with high end computer parts isn't feasible for me. I just try to enjoy what I have.

You're right at that dude. Mid-range performance at mid-range prices. I usually wait for a certain part to lower its price before I buy it and I read quite a lot of reviews before shelling out some bucks for it.

hi, zeroflashx2. May I assume that the term midrange is scale by price? I think

I use limited functions of PC but I use it efficiently. I don't install software that I don't use often and I often check if there is software I will not use then uninstall it. When turn on the PC, I will close the software if I don't need. If it can serve us efficiently, it is enough.

Well done lixiaos77, using a tool efficiently is absolutely important. Yes, computer, no matter how expensive it is, is just a tool to me. In my case I've waste my money as I buy something that I didn't use efficiently. The statement above is true, but may I defend myself? I use my computer (my tool) to finish my activities (writing and discussing in mylot) effectively! Well, I did using it to suit my need, didn't I? With of course abundant facility I didn't use or may be ignored. Just like buying a cellphone to send SMS only and never use gprs and 3G :).

I think I did, my PC is 4 years old now and I can very much feel the need for an upgrade. For my normal needs, its just fine but its delimiting me for viewing high definition movies, editing huge image files and lengthy conversion of media files. You probably notice the speed of technological advancement in computers as well as software, a year now a days are too long. I have this self imposed habit of pushing the specs to its limits and see how far a minimal specs could go or is capable of.

Dear FerdzNK, I know precisely how it feel using a 4 years old computer. back in my college days, I use pentium 1 60 mhz pc while my friend averagely pentium 3 class 300 mhz pc. slow and i have to push it by far its limit just to do my paper + playing winamp at the same time. its feels bad. i buy this pc to make sure it still enjoyable and usable for the next 4 to 6 year from now.

I use my computer for high end graphics so a graphics card is a must for me. Also these software's are very heavy and require good RAM and a fast processor. I also watch a lot of movies and listen to songs on my PC so a good sound card and speaker helps. I don't need a flat screen so I didn't go for it. I guess I am using my PC to the fullest capacity.

Well i guess an average user can't use the full capability of a computer. There's a lot of features and system tools inside the computer that you can use, actually you don't need to buy a third party software for your tools or programs that you needs, you can actually create your own tools and programs and security that's the way of using the full capability of a computer. Thankss
