I can't help but question why this happens. Poor children.

Yes. on all accounts incest is a sick and degrading illness. I am not sure if their is a cure or how to handle it. I am personally familiar with two families that suffered from incest and I cannot begin to understand the Mother tolerating this. I think a lot of the problem was their were six children in each family and these where poor families and the Mothers may have felt that they could not take care of the kids and had to stay in the marriage. I know this is not a viable excuse but it may of been what they felt. In all cases the abused children have had troubled lives some have handled it better than others and some worse. I would think it would depend on how a person came to terms with it or had gotten any counseling. I know in one of the families there has been addiction problems. In both situations the marriages of the parents have been very rocky but they stayed together, both couples have separated many times but always go back together. For myself had my husband touched one of my children I would never want to lay eyes on him again and certainly not want him touching me.

Good evening lyzabelle. I appreciate your response. I hope mothers of these children help in solving this problem and not tolerate it. Maybe, they're just too afraid to tell or avoiding the embarrassment.
