I have gifted my mom on so many occassions, but I don't consider them as best so far. It has been casual gifts like clothes, silver, electronics etc. I still remember my mother gifting my grandmom a sweater really a worthy one which she wore all the time and liked it. so what have you gifted your mom which she really cherish ?

I believe the best gift I have ever given my Mom was become her caretaker when she was ill. I even had to learn to do IVs and be able to handle wound care which I never thought I could.
Material gifts I would have to say nice clothes because I see here wear them a lot so she must have liked the gift.
The best material gift I ever received from my oldest daughter was this Mother Book and she had filled it with important memories of us through out her years of growing up. Funny things to serious things. Things I had taught her, etc. I treasure that book and go through it when ever I am feeling down. It is a great pick me up.

Gift for mother? Nice question pradysgirl..
according to me the best gift one can give to our mother is to show her the amount of love and affection we feel for our mother.. mothers never really expect anything from us but love in return.. any other gift can really be less worthy to a mother-child relation. Gifting anything casually wont make it special, if any materialistic gift is to be given then also something shud b given which she has always dreamt of having, which noone else could have gifted her but you..
Gift should portray our love know?

I know no amount of materialistic things can substitute her love, still love need to be expressed in some form and gifts are ideal . thank you for your response.

I once went to Manali many years ago (when I was unmarried and little expeirnece of life). I purchased a woollen shawl for my mother to the best of my ability. She liked it very and appreicated my efforts.

That's easy! Grandchildren! LOL
I know she would love more, but I believe her last one is on the way via my sister, the rest of us have had the children we wanted to have.
As for materialistic items, it would be really hard to say, I know my mom loves everything we give her. I gave her a beautiful wooden frame last year that is in the shape of a tree and says "family" on the bottom and has room for several pictures. I know that was a good one since pictures are a big part of family.
I have a couple of gift ideas that I would like to do for her but have not yet. One is a mother's ring with the birthstones of all her kids on it. The other idea is to gather up a whole bunch of pictures of everyone and put it together in a book, that one would be a huge task though so I don't know when I would get that done.

Well, gifts be it big or small,it doesn't matter because the greatest gift for her is our love and affection.I love her a lot and often when I go back home I will get some small gifts for her and she is always happy about it.I can see the happiness in her eyes. This time I am planning a real surprise for her and dad.I made a plan to send them for a nice cool vacation, near some beach. She will love it,I guess this would be the best gift ever.
