Cell phones are everywhere now. Every single person seems to have one. Two months ago the number of mobile phone users in india beat the US to become the largest mobile network in the world. Its crazy to see every single person with a cell. Its almost like they were born answering a call! Cell phones are just augmented into the human hand. :P People don't seem to care about the potential harm it could cause. Are there any souls out there who haven't got affected by this `virus`? :)

i've only recently gotten a cellphone. Really only for emergency purposes. i've seen the phone go for days and not ring.
When i do speak to a friend or loved one i use my land line.
Now, if my phone had internet on it, then it would be a different story. :)

I do not have a cell phone and really do not want one. Sure they are convenient but I feel like we miss something when we talk on the phone so much. I see people talking on their cell phones EVERYHWERE; driving, in the grocery store, getting their hair done, watching their kid play baseball, I EVEN caught someone using one in the movie theatre (while the movie was playing). Often I feel using the cell phone in public can be so rude.
I think we (while on our cell phones) miss the moments. Like the parent at the baseball game...she COMPLETELY missed her son hitting a home run. He looked over to her when he was running to first base...and she didn't see him. She missed it. And the look on his face broke my heart. He looked so disappointed.
I do not want to miss those moments. The only reason I would start carrying one is if I traveled. I would like one for safety reasons (like if my car broke down or something). But...right now...I do not miss having a cell phone at all. :-)
Well...that is my two-cents worth.

Being at home for almost week and just going out every Fridays or Saturdays I can say that I can now live without a cell phone for a day. I rarely use it at home and most of the time I just leave it in my bed room and check on my messages (if I have some) before going to sleep. I can't leave my phone though when I go out, it just doesn't feel right to me especially if I'm to meet my friends. Cell phone is a must for communication and emergency situations.

I don't have a cell phone at all. For a while my uncle gave me prepaid one, cause I drive an old vehicle, so I'd have it for an emergency if my car broke down...but that was like for six months and a long time ago.
I've never gotten sucked into having a cell phone, so I definetely can live without one. It would be nice to have one, but I'm ok without one. I don't see a need to have one all the time. I would pretty much only really like to have one for emergencies. It's crazy how much time some people spend on their cell phones.

Hello a3sachin,
Hey! Its me I haven't been affected by the cell phone, I have got one but I hardly ever use it, I only use it when I go out and had to call my hubby to come and pick me up but most of the my friends always bring me home when I go out so my phone just sits at home doing nothing and I have a landline at home. It can be months before I use my cell phone.

hi its a very nice question you have asked
yea i can stay witout a cell phone for one day because i think its a very good disturbing element.
it has some kind of advantages also and simultaneously disadvantages also
but many of the people they take the cell phone for any kind of unnecessary call
and they just don't think that if they call anybody without any reason then how much valuable time that person is spending of the other person whom he has call.
so please we all should make the proper utilisation of cell phone so that nobody again can raise a question like "who CAN live without a cell phone for ONE DAY".

im not a compulsive cell phone user, and i use it only for the main purpose - making calls. I think its great as far as keeping in contact whereever u are, is concerned. But every tech has its own demerit - microwave frequency signals are used in mobile phones, and unless u use a hands-free mic, u are susceptible to exposure to considerable density of microwave radiation - many might feel a warmth in their ears due to prolonged exposure.

I could live without just about anything if the other option were to live without my daughter. :)

I do have to agree with you that everyone and their cousin have cell phones it's crazy. I don't have a cell phone and I don't plan on getting one either for I have my house phone and people know how to get hold of me if need be.
Yes I will say it's a cinvienience to have but there are other ways to com municate as well. I have my house phone and that's it.

Okay you can laugh at this , but I can live without a cell phone .
I actually dont own one
I share one with my fiance , but thing is I take it over .
I am sure there has been at least a few days I have not used a
phone nor a cell phone .
it is a little crazy to see all the people with cell phones ,
and even litlle kids , and all high school age kids have them too.
Gosh , I was in school many years back and it was rare if you had one.
I would say within the last 5 years is when things got out of control.

Count me in! I can live a day or two or a week without cellphone. I am a full time housewife and I don't go out often. I usually go out to do grocery and toy shopping. My siblings who lived far from me, we communicate through internet and I often use land line phone for some of my transaction. Actually since my camera is broken the main purpose of my phone is taking photos. But I think if I am not a full time housewife and I work I know I can't live without cellphone.

Cell phones have become a part of our daily life.Almost all the people have their own cellphones. But from my point of view cellphone is only a secondary need and need not be given more importance because it also has some disadvantages.Recently I have read an article in the newspaper saying that, "cellphones are consuming human life".The radiations emitted by the cellphones are really dangerous and have adverse effects on human beings.Remember that"Cellphone is only a part of life, but not the whole life".So, I think the use of cell phones must be reduced to some extent.

I lived a few days without a mobile when I lost it! I really didnt miss it. I guess this thought that "I can't live without my mobile" is a created necessity. lose your mobile for a day and everyone will realise that life still goes on.
However I must stress that there have been several times when a mobile has been absolutely vital in very important communication including possibly saving a life or two - so I guess it is very useful!

I’m one of those people out there that doesn’t care much of a cell phone. Although I have two phones I can say that I can live without using it for a day or weeks. I rarely used my two cell phones, It’s just there lying in my bed.
I can go to malls or any place without bringing my phone. I just use it for really important business; or if I will meet my friends for special occasions.
Right now the main function of my phones is to wake me up every morning. I used it as my alarm clock so I never let it run out of batteries. But before it became my alarm clock I never care to recharge it for days.

I sometimes forget my cellphones, and it's ok. I guess it's the matter of getting use with technologies, and suddenly you just realized that you can't leave without it. Some of my friends did feels like they lost their direction when they left their cellphone at home :)

why do you say it is crazy??
cell phones are just tools to communicate with other people if they use its properly. As you know humans are social creature, we need social interaction with other person. So cell phones are the shortcut to make the interaction easier.
Not just for social interaction, cell phones also can be use as information tools in this very competitive world where we need to get information as fast as possible.
Do you want to be the loser and the others become champions only because you're too late getting informations?? I don't think so.
So just have a simple think that cell phones is very useful for our daily life.
