Hey!! friend!!! A debit card cannot be used to transfer money to paypal... A credit card like VISA or MASTERCARD are required.... Anyways you can still transfer funds from your bank account to paypal... Just create a Personal Starter Account... Since there are no fees for sending and receiving in this account type... you can open a personal starter account in paypal for free...and then connect your bank account to paypal and directly transfer money from the account to paypal and viceversa.

don't know how things work out in india, but i guess paypal is offering worldwide service, so just input the account no. of your debit card to check out cash or spend it online.
