While I would consider Jamiroquai funk music, I usually think of old-school funk from the 70s & 80s. Cameo, Parliament Funkadelic, George Clinton, The Commodores, The Meters, Bootsy Collins and there are plenty of others - far too many to list. And a lot of the hits of recent years have interpolated or sampled the aforementioned artists. Go back to the roots!
