I don't watch hockey. I'm not a hockey enthusiast, but I went to an Anchorage Aces game when I was little and Chad Powers gave me his hockey stick!

I would definately go on a limb and say Sidney is the best hockey player in the world. He may not have the ultimate scoring touch like ovechkin but no team wants a player that is selfish and tries to do everything himself. Crosby has excelent speed, vision, passing, shooting, and most of all he has a great passion for hockey which is something i share with him.. haha i only wish i was as great as he was though. Lets Go Pens!

As an old Flyers fan now living in SJ Sharks territory, I go back to the days of Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Bobby Clarke, etc. These guys don't hold a candle to the talent in today's NHL. Of all the amazing hockey players out there, Crosby is the best I've ever seen. It's just that simple. He's like the Willie Mays of hockey...he's got a million ways to beat you. I'm not a Penguins fan but a person would have to be crazy not to like Sid.

He isnt even close to being the greats Penguin. Lemeuix is still the best to play in the Burgh. Crosby could not hold the greats of yesterdays Jocks. It was a different game back then, you had to have both skill and toughness. and you had to use them all the time, not just when convenent. I think the Kid would have had a hard time dealing with Howe's elbows or making a move on Orr. Orr and Gretzky still are at a level no other player comes close to. After them Howe, Richard and few other, Crosby has done nothing so far in his career to justify placement in the same sentance as any of them. Talk to me in 10 years and maybe things will have changed.

The best of all time? No. There is Gordie Howe, Great One, and then both Ovechkin and Sid the Kid.In that order. He will be the best player of this generation and all he has to do is stay healthy and he will be in the Hall Of Fame but the best of All time, no.

SID THE KID IS MY FREAKING IDOL! He is the best there is, and if hes not, he would only be second to mario lemiux. Now I know the say that gretzgy is the best, BUT HE IS NOT AT ALL. When Wayne played the goalies were not near as good as they are now or when mario played. So SID THE KID is either the best, or second only to mario lemuix.
GO PENS!!

mmm mario played against the exact same goalies that Gretzky played against. Mario retired two times before Wayne retired.... I would have loved to see Mario in a fully healthy career, but we didnt so he cant be number one. Some say Sid isnt even best on his team, and when it comes to all time pens Mario then Jagr then probably Fransis for right now, maybe Malkin or Crosby in the future

he'll be the most HYPED player of all-time....no question.
Best player of all time? I'm not even sure he's the best player on his TEAM.
He doesnt have the scoring flair or game presence that Ovie has, the all-around game that Howe had, or the skating of a Bobby Orr. He's like a whinier Gretzky really, only without the Goon Squad to protect him.
Not a chance

No, Gretzky is the best all time. Just look at all the records.. There's no player who will pass Gretzky. Plus, the NHL has changed as well, so maybe if Sid played during the Gretzky Era, he would be pretty close to Gretzky!

no because ovechkin defiantly is better in a lot of ways.
