We always do. In the Philippines we are eating rice 3 times a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know that people in other countries seldom eat rice. They eat rice but not everyday. Just a toast for breakfast or cereals will do. Oh!! not for me.. I can not live with cereals.. I always eat rice.. I feel that my stomach is empty if I eat bread only in the morning. How about you? what you usually eat in the morning? I know some are not eating breakfast.. but for those who always eat breakfast, do you prefer rice or cereals? Just curious!!!!!

For us south Indians, rice is a highly staple food. Cant be without it on any given day. We just have rice for brunch or lunch and even for dinner. Most of the times, if it is breakfast, we prefer Idly or dosa which have rice. Now a days due to change in trend the morning breakfast have become Oats porridge or some other porridge. But many of the south Indians dont prefer cereal for breakfast (I personally feel, it is not a filling meal).

I agree that cereals and oatmeal is not really the food for breakfast for us who are from Asian countries. Maybe I could not stand the food in US if ever I can be there.

In my country, rice is the staple food and it's the main foodgrain produced. But I, and I don't think a lot of other people also go for having rice for all the meals of the day. We have rice for lunch, and many others also have rice for dinner, but for breakfast, we generally have buttered toast and eggs or some fruits. I don't like cereals that much for my breakfast. Cheers.

Rice is always a part of our three meals in a day. But since I want to lose some weight, I eat less rice now. I eat a sandwich or oatmeal for breakfast. I eat a full meal (with rice) at lunch. A sandwich again with soup for dinner.

oh, yes,, that's what some other people said too. Rice which is full of carbohydrates can add to our weight.. and some people avoid this to lose weight... well, good luck..

hi celestial! just like you i can't go on a day without eating rice at least once. its really a wonder why most of us Filipinos can't go on a day just by eating bread when in fact bread and rice are both rich sources of carbohydrates. i wonder about myself too. LOL i can't last a day without eating rice for a meal. its probably psychological. but i can eat only bread for breakfast. sometimes i don't have the appetite for rice during mornings and i just eat bread.

I don't eat rice much at all. I'm from Alaska, but I ahd rice yesterday. I went out to a teppiaki restaraunt. I probably spelled that wrong, but they had rice there! But that's the first time I've eaten it in a few months.

Oh really? here in the Philippines, we can not live without rice. That is our main food everyday. As if our stomach is empty if we can't eat rice in a day. We used to it that is why we can't live without rice.

I almost always eat cereal or perhaps eggs or pancakes. I used to eat rice in the morning sometimes when I was alittle kid. It tastes delicious with brown sugar. Now I dont eat rice that often maybe once a week or less. I usually just have it with dinner or if I go to a chinese restaurant or something.

This is very interesting!! pancakes? oh!! we eat that for our snacks.. Most of us who are working we always have snack time at 10am. Pan cakes and other sweets will be our snacks. I never have cereals as I can remember.. for breakfast...I don;t even know what are the brands of cereals? my kids know better than me about it.. but they eat that as snacks not as regular food.

Well, I do not eat any breakfast since I am used to taking just coffee in the morning. For lunch and dinner there is always rice for me. Though I could survive by having bread for lunch or dinner, I always prefer to take rice. If assuming that I would be eating something for breakfast, I would also go for rice.

I eat rice everyday and every other day. Must eat rice at least for one meal. Eating rice with dishes is real yum. I love eating rice. Our one rice meal a day is enough. We don't take breakfast. We only have rice with dishes for lunch and we drink milk mix with protein powder with biscuit or wheat/oats for dinner. Can't afford to eat rice for dinner not that we are short of cash but we need to keep our weight. Eating too much rice will make one over weight because too much carbs.

It is true, most of the Westernized people do not eat rice, I live in America and I rarely ever eat rice. I only eat it when I go out and eat Chinese food, or make some sort of stir-fry at home, it's a rare occurrence, maybe I eat it once every two months? That probably sounds INSANE to you haha. For my breakfast I usually eat a yogurt and fruit, for lunch I often eat a sandwich or some vegetables, and when dinner comes around I eat an assortment of vegetables, and some kind of main course. It's probably a lot different compared to what you are used to eating!

this is interesting!!! I never experience eating yogurt int he morning? and even any time of the day maybe I can have that during snacks time. I tell what? Most American food that you eat everyday? we only eat that one during special occasion here like birthday party or other special gatherings. We always have rice with fish, or meat. We have different way of cooking fish and meat. We mixed it with vegetables. And that will go with the rice.

Rice is the staple food here in the Philippines so I ate rice since I learn how to eat solid food. Atleast twice a day. I lessen my rice intake if I'm on a diet though.. But I dont skip a day without eating rice..

I like rice but don't eat everyday. But it depends on what I have prepare which goes with rice or chapati. If I have prepared curry variety or Rajma, or Chhole or something gravy items then I prepared some rice too. My hubby like rice with curry & Rajma. I do like it. I eat corn flakes with milk, or eggs, or oat meals in the morning. My breakfast changes everyday. We don't like to stick on one.
