Why - after an Alcohol Binge - do you have hangover?

I really don't understand, why most of us have a headache and get thirsty when too much alcohol intake..I always experienced that every time I'm drunk with beverages and I woke up early in the morning..
What's the reason behind?

yes. it's definitely almost always the dehydration that creates the hangover. Ever notice how much you pee? You're getting rid of so many fluids and not replacing them.. then you pass out and wake up with a bad headache. :-( hangovers are awful. i havent had a bad one in a good while. my tolerance is so high now. ....oh the college life. haha!
