Well, I personally believe that decreasing food consumption is not solution to weight loss at all. But I agree that by having healthy nutritious diet instead of junk food is much helpful.
From my experience, I have seen lot of people eating much, but they never have been fat. Whereas if i have even tried to take as much as meal they take for a week, my weight increases fast.
I think Genetics is one of the major factors why people become fat. Apart from genetics, I personally belive that if you can burn your fat by hard work in daily life, amount of food consumption doesn't matter at all. But these days, we became lazy, so taking diet food is better.
Thanks

In order to lose weight properly you need to decrease your junk intake and exercise. Some people do the first thing and do not include the exercise, lol. And I am one of these people. Exercising sucks, everybody knows this, but it's the real way to lose weight. Doing cardio workouts can also help lose the fat so you can see the muscle definition.

hello soulfly,
i agree that genetics plays a very important role in one's weight.
some people (like me) can eat a lot and still not gain that much.
also health conditions can change one's body on how it metabolize the food. if you have thyroid problem it often makes you eat a lot and still be skinny coz your thyroid is working so much.
i honestly believe (even doctors suggest) that decreasing "the amount" of your meal will help a lot on your weight problem.
my husband and i have weight problems in the past though right now my hubby is still working on his.
what i do is let him eat fruits (a small plate) before meal and that makes him a little full so by the time he have to eat the heavy meal.
it is also advisable that you eat a small snack every 3 hours so you dont feel hungry during the heavy meal, it is believed that humans tend to eat more if they only eat that very meal time so if you eat a few every now and then it will make your tummy accustomed of eating only less and that will help you a lot if you are struggling of weight problem. it doesnt matter if your weight is caused by genetics or not - you will still lose a lot of weight in the process.
make sure that you are doing at least 30 minutes exercise a day, walking your dog or even just a walk on your own at home is considered exercise already.
junk foods is ok to have but make sure it is with moderation.
i honestly believe that we should still enjoy the taste of those food we love and enjoy.
if you like fries, eat only half of what you usually eat. you still have what you want without depriving your taste buds.
the problem in most case is that people shy away to those foods that they really enjoy so when they are really craving for it they eat like crazy coz they often said that they miss it and it is just once (then it ends up happening every now and then)
we only live ones, if we deprive ourself with something that we enjoy we wont be completely healthy as real health is measured as well on how happy we are in life.
just my thoughts on your discussion.
