neobux referrals. can anyone answer my question on the renting balance please?

Hi Last night after reading some very interesting discussions on here about renting referrals i decided to go for it and I rented 10. Now in my rental balance I had nothing so I transferred over the minimum of $5 from paypal and spent $3 on 10 referrals. This left me a rental balance of $2. This morning I have logged in to see what is happening and so far my referrals have clicked 9 times but the rental balance has now gone down to $1.98. Does anyone on here understand how this works, as I presumed that the balance would only be used once I had used it for renting, but something has knocked it down, whcih doesn't make sense to me. I was hoping to keep the $2 in there and add $1 if it was working to rent a further 10, but now I would need to add another $2. It is like it is costing me further for the rentals. Is anyone else a member who rents and can anyone answer my question please, as I don't like not understanding things. Thanks
