Have you been to the UK?

Has anyone been to the UK on holiday? I live in England and some of my cousins from Poland came over recently and went to some of the main tourist attractions. They were here for a week and went to London, Stratford-upon-Avon (birthplace of William Shakespeare), Cambridge, Warwick Castle and Blenheim Palace (home of Churchill).
If you've been to the UK on holiday, where did you go and what did you enjoy about it? If you've not visited the UK, is there anywhere you would like to go?

It has been a long time since I visited the UK but I really enjoyed my stay. I saw most of the atractions in London and Windsor and visited a little place in the country Chalfont St. Chiles I believe. I would love to come back and see Devon and Robin Hood country, and hike along the cliffs near Dover, and maybe move on to see the landscape as described in James Herriot books.

I read the James Herriot books when I was a teenager. It also used to be on TV. I think they are set in Yorkshire, aren't they? I lived in Yorkshire for four years so I'm familiar with the area and it is wonderful and also where the Bronte sisters came from. If you do ever go to Yorkshire try and visit Howarth Parsonage, which is the family home of Charlotte and Emily Bronte.

Thanks for the tip. I certainly will make a point to visit the home of the Bronte sisters if I ever get to England again. Wish I could go thre soon.

Hey! I live in England too, near Brighton in West Sussex have your cousin visited the seaside town yet? or have you? it so nice here but where I am is Horsham and it a lot quieter than Brighton and London is great too.

I use to go to Hove a few times when I was a kid as my grandad lived there but I don't really remember much apart from the sea front and his flat. I've been to Brighton but only for work reasons and I was only there for a day. I would like to go back and see the Royal Pavillion and other attractions. I've been to East Sussex, to Eastbourne. I love the seaside and would love to live by the sea.

I've not been to the UK yet, I would definitely like to go to Europe some time, it is a long way from Australia and seems to be quite expensive.
I have been to a few Asian countries, Hawaii (just travelling through) and Canada.
I would love to go to France, Italy, Portugal, Kroatia and possibly lots of other places - sometimes just a health resort holiday as well.

I would love to visit Australia but it seems so far from here. I will get there one day I hope though.
