I made my list and I'm sticking to it!

I have to do the walmart adventure today to pick up a few much needed things. But before I go I make a list and I am sticking to it! If I don't I tend to pick up things that are either on sale or things I don't really need! So when you go out shopping do you make a list? Do you stick to it?

Have fun shopping today at Walmart. I also need to go and do have a list. I stick to my list also otherwise I'd end up with all kinds of craft supplies I don't need. Always think I can start something new and do it in the winter since I am home more often. Once in awhile I will buy something that's not on the list but nothing bizarre.

I need to get there to check out the eye drops. If I don't make a list, I'll spend all my time looking over crafts and buying more plastic canvas that I don't need...lol Maybe if they removed the craft department, I could whiz in and out of there.

Hi Jill, well when you get back you can post to us all the extra items you did buy LOL. I do this determined not to pick up anything extra and I always see something. Well done you though if you do manage to come back with just the exact items on the list and no more. Good luck. Ellie :D

Good luck to you! I'm not strong enough to go into any store with a list and stick to it. I always find something I want or need and get it!

If I make a list, I usually forget it unless I put it in my purse right away. Then when I get to the store, I forget that I even made a list to begin with. On the rare occasion that I do happen to use my list, I get what's on it and then some. Lists just are not for me..

Hi jillhill.
I do tend to make shopping lists. Then, I go right in the store and pick up what I'm looking for. I am usually not a "big shopper" unless I'm out of town and there are new stores to explore. While at home, I usually want to get in and get out quickly.
But those darn stores, they always put the most interesting things out in the main aisles and on the ends of the aisles, or right up by the check-out, don't they? Even so, an object has to be pretty compelling for me to impulsively buy it. It has to past my test questions: 1--do I really need that? 2--how will I clean it? 3--where will I store it?

Congrats on your trip to WalMart and following your list. Don't cha just hate it when you miss an item that was right there on the list??
That is so sweet that you have been watching the Weather Channel. Believe me, we have, too. We tend to watch the Tropical Storm report that's on at 50 minutes past every hour.
There's nothing going on here with the weather. It's been overcast the whole day, which is quite unusual in FL. We have maybe 3 days a year like this. First, the wind is eerily still, then it blows, then it gets still again. I don't think we've gotten a single sprinkle yet.
I think it was on an elaborate plan on my husband's part to get that homemade pizza!
We just keep expecting the rain to start coming in and the local reports are saying we could get 4 to 8 inches, which wouldn't be a problem for our house or property or anything. I guess it will be during the night. I don't know if that's good or bad.
But I think I'm gonna sleep like a baby with all the runnin' around I did today.

Well good luck at Walmart! I go there all the time but the lines are just awful!! But, yes, I usually make a list and use it as a basis, and then if something that I need is on sale I will pick that up too if it is something we use all the time, like shampoo, toothpaste, canned veggies, etc.
Sometimes I forget to get what is on my list, especially if my kids are with me when I go shopping. I prefer to leave them at home if I can.

I only make a list of the things that we are out of or almost out of when going to the store. Half the time I leave it at home anyway. I don't stick to it. I get things that are not on the list all the time and half the time I don't get things that ARE on the list.

I am hopeless too especially at sales i have just doe the big midyear toy sales and gone crazy spending money and getting cool gifts for my boy and acouple of his little friends.

HAHA yes I make a list. No I don't stick to it. When I have to I send my son and roommate in. I wait by door if they have no money. And I have to pay. Oe I give them the money and wait. lol. can't pass up a sale. or something I don't need.

I make a list and I stick to it. But I'm a guy so that is probably why I can do that. I want to get in there and get out as soon as possible. I hate shopping.

I am always tempted by the 'offers' and 'sale' part. I do make a list and try to stick to that, but that does not always happen. In fact at times end up even buying things that i don't really need.

Sticking to the list??? Easier said than done ! How i wish I could. but I rarely do. I do make a list and usually after all of it is bought with a few additional items, I am just so tempted to walk down the other aisles and thats when trouble begins. I end up buying a lot of unwanted stuff. Since I can't stick to the list, I have curtailed my visit to superstores ! Go there only when absolutely needed.

I usually have a list. When I get to WalMart, I try to buy the things on my list. I usually find something I had forgotten to put on my list and add it to my cart. I don't know if that is too bad to deviate from the list like that, though. I do sometimes end up in the other areas of the store where I don't have anything to buy. I'm not too much on whim buying, but do it occasionally, but it's always something I need.

IN the grocery yes, we really make a list and stick to it. That would be useful and less time consuming. But for my personal needs, i also make a list but when i see something that catches my eyes, i would see the price first if it would not hurt my budget, then maybe, get it. :)
