I have been working on a list of freelance writing sites. The list still needs quite some organising, and there are a few sites that I haven't investigated fully yet, so I'm still leaving them without a description. Here is the list
www.writingfulltime.blogspot.com
Anyone have any sites that I don't have in there, or have any suggestions for making the list better?

That is a very good list. I'm writing for some of them and I think I have looked at all of them at some time. I also write for SharedReviews which is a great writing community and it pays me every month.
I like your blog and look forward to reading future posts. A strange thing I noticed about your post on freelance writing sites - it's dated Sunday, August 15, 2010!?!

Yes, I did that on purpose, I wanted that list to be at the top, and since the latest article would be the one at the top, I gave it a future date.

Pretty good list. I use Helium, Associated Content, Constant Content, and Triond. And I didn't know there were that many out there. Opened my eyes a bit. And I think you listed all of them, lol, I could be wrong. But you don't want to venture out into an obscure website, you never know if they are legit.

There are actually a few sites I found and didn't list down precisely cos' I didn't like what I found about them on the web. There were sites like YouSayToo and Thisisby.Us that I wasn't quite comfortable with, to put it mildly. And I actually do still find a few new sites quite often.
My list adding process goes something like this:
1. Search for new sites
2. Search for anything negative regarding new site
3. Add to list if I don't find anything negative.
4. Continue searching and figure out how the new site works
5. Add description to site after I'm satisfied with it
6. Clock some attempts to publish on the site
7. Write my review of the site
I don't really have a lot of sites that made it to 7. So far I have only Helium, Asscociated Content and Triond. It's not cos' I don't like the other sites though, but more because Helium, AC, and Triond were also the first few I found and I felt I had enough publishing experience with them to assess them.

hi there iakul! am not a professional writer per se but would want to try to do some freelance writing on the side. I've checked out your list and I hope to try visiting the sites as soon as I have the time. I think it would give me some respite from doing the more serious type of reading and writing I do in my work as a court legal researcher. Thanks for the information! have a nice day..

I will probably get smacked for asking this... but do you (or anyone) know of similar sites that also accept poetry? (and not Poetry.com). I noticed a lot of your sites listed allow users to post their work, and then publishers or others buy that work to use. I was curious if any of those, or others, did the same with poems.

Constant Content does allow you to post your poems with a preset price tag. I'm not sure if Associated Content will offer upfront payment for poems, but they do accept poems for performance payment, which means having your articles published on AC and earning whenever they are viewed. If you are looking for sites that allow you to earn through page views generated by your articles, the better ones, IMO, would be Triond, Helium and AC. Other sites that allow you to earn through page views are Shvoong, Gzyn and Suite101. And since what Hubpages and Squidoo do is let you set up webpages with your own content, you can publish your poems on them to earn through page views as well.

This is quite interesting, and a site I have bookmarked to check more into later. I Love to Write and always looking for New places to try and submit my work too, and see if I have a chance at getting published and earn something there. Since I eventually would Love to be a Big time published known author, this link is definately a place to check out for sure. Wishing you the Best.

Your site is actually good. The only one i'm trying is Triond. I am not really focusing in writing but your list can really be of help with the writers here. :)
