I saw a one week itinerary that began in Bangkok and saw a taste of Thailand. It suggested spending some time relaxing on one of the islands. If you went to a Thai island which would you choose and why? What sort of accommodation would you like to stay in?

Hello Maxi. I have been to Thailand several times, business and holiday travels. Koh Samui is my favorite island, a very relaxing place.

The company I work for sells an itinerary like that - I have been to Phuket and it was amazing but would like to see some of the more secluded and off the beaten track island or just ones that aren't as touristy yet such as Koh Yoa or Koh Lanta.

Hi there,
I have been to thailand before and its an exciting place to be. Plenty to c there and apart from language problem i found that country very friendly.
I have been to chengmai and phetcha buri. i was there for mare than a month so i explored thai beaches and thai culture quite well.
I like the way thai temples are made and its quite special. Pattya is womndderful and so is phuket. Bangkok is the busiest place in thailand and the capital too. People say night life of thailand is something exciting.
I was in a very peaceful palce and i enjoyed the time there.
Cheers,
Tutul

Well, there are so many to choose from. The most popular is Phuket, but this is too expensive for me, and there are too many foreigners. Koh Samut is also very popular, but there are too many vendors annoying you here. Koh Chaing is another. I stayed there about 15 years ago, We stayed in a cabin on the beach, no TV, power out at 11.00, it was beautiful and unspoiled, no private cars.
Last year I went there again, too many cars and motorcycles, large resoits, heading the same way as most other places; as soon as tourists discover a place and it becomes popular, tourists swarm over it like ants at a picnic. Then the developers move in and the destruction starts.
There is Phi Phi Island in South Thailand which I believe is unspoiled. However, as I haven't been there am not sure.
A few movies have beeen filmed at this location.
