Great suggestion! I ususally just put plain water in there but adding lemon sounds like a much better idea. I'll be sure to give that a try!

Using baking soda is the best way to get a micro clean. I suppose the lemon will also help and deodorise the micro. I will definitely try with the lemon. Seems like a good idea. Thanks.

Yes, I love it. The lemon doesn't really help the cleaning it off part, but deoderizes the microwave to get out any bad smells. Some people add baking soda for that purpose.

I use a similar method, but I put a bowl of vinegar and water in the microwave instead.

The best way to avoid having to take the time to clean the microwave is to cover your food with plastic wrap or a paper towel. It prevents the food from getting too hot and splattering all over inside. However, do not put aluminum foil into the microwave because it could become a fire hazard.

And it leaves you with that nice lemony smell.

Yes this is true! It will loosen up anything that is on the walls of the microwave. This reminds me that I have been putting off cleaning the Microwave.. I need a maid.!!!
