I havent traveled on them lately, but I had excellent trip to London on British Airways about ten years ago. It was very comfortable and they gave everyone socks and eye masks. We had nice pillows, it was really very comfortable. I want to fly on Virgin sometime. I think that would be the ultimate in comfort. It would be fun.

British airways and virgin are always on loggerheads so i guess to compete they improve their services and consumer benefits... hope you will soon fly virgin.

My favorite airline that I have been on is Air New Zealand. I think it has comfortable seats, a decent amount of leg room, friendly cabin crew and it does some wonderful stopovers. From London it flies to Los Angles, then it goes to French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Fiji or Tonga and Samoa. It has plenty of routes in New Zealand.
I love Qantas because it is an excellent airline. It has the most friendly and helpful cabin crew that I have ever met. I flew with them when I went around the world as well as on Virgin Atlantic. That is a great airline and I saw seat back screens for the first time on my flight from London to Los Angeles. I really like British West Indian Airlines (BWIA) on my flight from London to St Lucia the seats were different colors and this got me into the holiday mood.
I have flown on First Choice Airlines from London to Male and from London to Cancun. They are a charter airline and they sometimes do cheap flight only tickets for a week or two. The routes that most appeal that they do are Costa Rica, Margarita and Brazil.

Virgin and Singapore Airlines are the best I've used. BA were c**p to be honest, especially when I complained.
