Avast is a good anti-virus no doubt. But for me , ESET SMART SECURITY or NOD 32 is BEST. I have used Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee(Totally Bulls**t), AVG ...but i did not find these antivirus as powerful as ESET. ESET uses less memory..So your all programs runs smoothly. Its' updates are available daily. Moreover , You can get its' pro version as free. I'm using ESET SMART SECURITY which has a expiry date of 60 years. It's a professional version. I'm using it for 6 months and I'm happy using it. My system has not been affected by any Virus or spywares since I'm using ESET smart security.
You can give it a trial if you want.

I personally think that ESET NOD32 is the best antivirus around: uses almost no memory so your PC won't slow down, It's effective, you get updates very often, and is not so expensive... but on the other hand, it is paid after all, you can stay with avast.. for example, i've used avast personal edition which is free, and license lasts for a year i think, and it works pretty good (the feature where you can scan your disk even before windows loads up is pretty cool).. but if you want real-time protection i think NOD32 is a very good investment
