i don't see any point there. instead, i think why not save those breath to put more time, money and energy and focus on economic development, environment, education, things like that, more meaningful To what extend to you agree my contention?

I do not see the problem with sports because there is a lot of charitable events that come through them like research causes or giving to the less fortunate during the holidays, such and such, but the problem that I have with sports is athletes becoming celebrities and making ridiculous salaries and that only seems to be rising and when it surpasses the wages of more meaningful workers like TEACHERS, and COMMUNITY WORKERS/SOCIAL WORKERS, then I see a problem with it and it undermines the good work these people do on a day to day basis by lower the standard. While I commend giving to charitable causes wouldn't these ridiculous salaries make charitable giving more a joke as only for marketing and recognition, as we have known Celebrities to do to better their reputation, Ahem, Paris Hilton? I think they should be deployed to serve for Philanthropic causes like it was a job much like our troops are deployed if their gonna make salaries like that because they could do a lot more for the honor of our country.

Dear friend, Many people have many kinds of talents like singing, like dancing, like good in business, good in studies, so on and no one in this world is talented in all the areas. Hence I feel these games are a place for those sports persons to prove their talent. Let them make money and be famous through proving their talent. As we can see Madonna, Michal Jackson, Britney Spears all has proven their talent in musics and songs and made fame and money. Hence there are great economist to prove their talent to build up economically developed places they too have talent and made fame and money. Even Bill Gates proved his talent. Hence for all these one need a platform to show their talents that platform for sports persons are here like Olympics, Asian game, World cups etc. Until one participate we may not be able judge a person's talent. Hence to participate for sports for one own country is important if successes it gives fame and money, may be it helps that person and his family to have a more better lifestyle. Hence I feel it is important.

Here..I don't agree with you..Nowadays.. if you are in sports , you can make it your career..Sports person , are being treated as celebrities.. When , I was a student...my parents use to scold me , when I participated in sports...They always forced me to concentrate on studies.. I give ample time to my son..for sports activities...Times have changed...Representing your country in sports is a honor..One should be proud to do so....
