Writing at Associated Content

I have been writing stories at Triond and am starting to think about doing articles and trying another site to write for. I am thinking Associated Content should be next. I hear they are a little more pickier about what they publish but I also heard they pay out a few dollars if you do get published. Is that correct? Can anyone give me a few tips that will help ensure I get published at Associated Content?

I like Associated Content. Yes, not every article will be published, but everything counts towards page views. The support network out there is phenomenal and the tutorials (a lot from AC producers themselves) is amazing.

Sounds like a plan, Ladyjarhead. I didn't know AC had tutorials. Will have to check those out. Thanks for the tip!

Well, I have made a little from my Writing there in Associated Content, and Yes, they can be a little picky, so that is why I have not contributed much there lately at all. They do pay OK if your work is accepted, so if you are open and willing to try and not afraid of rejection, it could be worth it for sure.
I have never used Triond myself. How do they pay?

I have done well with Triond but money is slow in building, at least from what I can tell. This is the first online publisher I write for. I have 5 stories with them and if you go to my profile page, you will see the link to all of them at Triond. I have been with Triond for about a month now and have earned $1.30 so far for my stories.

Just make sure to write about topics that people will search for.
They have lowered their pay recently so usually I only make $5 per article or so. But occasionally I'll still publish an $8 article. And once I even made $50 on one article. So they aren't bad.
I would write more if they still had their old payment system. But since I already have over 100 articles published I can't complain too much about their new system since you can get money now even while you're too busy to write, just from page views.

$50 for an article? WOW!! What did you write about to merit so much money? That is wonderful! I sent in two stories and a poem to AC and am still waiting to hear from them I hope to hear something today or tomorrow. Want to see if I can do the 5 articles published to make the $10 they are offering for this month's promotion. I am still earning a penny or two a day with Triond but would like to make a little more with my writing if possible.

Hi Leafy. I can see you are a gifted writer. If you like writing brief reviews, then "Review Stream" is a good place. I have been writing reviews for them for some time now, and I get paid well. You can write reviews on a variety of topics, things you come across in your day-to-day activities. So, take a look at it.
Have a nice day.

You have gotten a lot of information on AC already, but I thought I would toss out what I know as well. Start with topics you know a lot about. If you are a mom choose things you have learned about being a mom. If you crochet write an article about crocheting. By choosing topics you already know you can write better articles and do it in less time. Once you have a few ideas about what you can write about (it helps to write them down) then you can do a search of the site and see what they have there. You want to find articles you can write about that are different then they already have. Find your perfect topic and then write your article. If the article is well written and covers things on their site that they don't already have then you will make a few dollars upfront.
In addition to your upfront payments you can publish almost anything there for performance payment ($1.50 per 1000 page views of all your work till you get a clout 7 or higher at which time you can make more money per 1000 page views). This isn't as much as other sites, but it works out to be a nice sum that can be added to your upfront payments making it worth your time and effort.
Taking calls in areas that you have knowledge can also be very helpful. These often make $2-5 each and usually get a lot of page views.
If you want more tips on writing online and making money from it you can see my profile or visit my make money online blog (link in my profile). Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Emmm.. what do you mean about "Taking calls" in areas...? I don't understand what you mean there. I will be sure to do as you said and just type about what I know and hopefully hear something from them soon. I have already sent them a poem and two non-fiction stories so far.

If you are a decent writer, your content will get published on AC. They are a bit pickier about pieces submitted for upfront payment (which is where those few dollars come in) than pieces submitted for performance only payments (which generate a few cents here and there).
Helium is another site where a decent writer can pick up a little money.
I've heard mixed reviews about Review Stream. Some people do well with them; others have said that their work is getting paid under a "bulk" rate.
Another site is ePinions, but I haven't done much with it, and I haven't been too impressed with it. There are others who have expressed the same opinion; there are also some who have had good things to say about it.
Good luck.

WOW!!! The cashout is $50!! YIKES! Thanks for letting me know about your experience with Review Stream. I think I will stick with AC for now. I am new at all this and I don't think my ego can handle all the rejections. Triond has accepted everything I have sent them so far but would like to see about getting some upfront payments now. Thanks for telling me what you could about Review Stream.

In my opinion ReviewStream is too picky. They won't even ACCEPT an article if it's not at least 200 words, but they don't actually tell you this, they just reject it and say it's "not valuable." If it's 200 words they'll accept it, but then it takes them days to get back to you. If they reject it you can resubmit at the bulk rate, which is only 40 cents. It would take a lot of bulk rate articles to reach the payout of $50. And sometimes they don't even accept your article for the bulk rate. They insist on your giving your PERSONAL opinion on whatever you're reviewing, and I've had some where I rewrote them three times and definitely included "I thought" and "My opinion" and "My experience with" as much as I could but they still rejected it saying it's "not specific enough." I'm not sure what they want. I did get two reviews accepted for $2.00 and one for 40 cents, but with that $50 payout and the 3 or 4 day waiting periods when you submit an article, I'm not going to submit anything else to them.

Associated Content has gotten a little picky about what they will pay for upfront, but they will publish virtually anything, and you can earn performance payments off anything you publish, whether you were paid up front for it or not. I've written about 16 articles for AC in the last year, and I've made 55 dollars through that site. I would write more, and am trying to write more, but it's hard sometimes for me to figure out what to write about.
Getting back to the subject. Write about whatever you want. Submit it for upfront payment. If they turn you down, resubmit it for performance payments only, and they will ALMOST always publish it. The more stuff you have published, the more you make, since 1000 page views = 1.50.
I think you should give it a try. I really like that website a lot, and when they do pay me upfront for something I've written, I'm getting at least 3 - 4 dollars, sometimes more. Hope that helps!
