Can you sleep while sitting anywhere in public places?

I always see people who are sleeping or closing their eyes while in the public place waiting for their turn. Like in the bank, or in other public offices where you have to wait for your number to be called? It is very boring waiting for a long time. I myself do not like a long wait. I often go out and just come back when my turn is almost there. What is funny is most people who are sitting there waiting are sleeping.
did you experience that. I really see them and sometimes I am tempted to do it too,

Hey there, I usually sleep in public transports such as buses and trains. I hate waiting too but since I'm used to it I get over it by daydreaming or sometimes sleeping. Can't wait to have my own transport but I guess it's gonna be the same situation when there's traffic jam but the difference is I definitely would not have the option to sleep in the car when I am stuck in a traffic jam. It's always funny to see people dozing in public places.

yes, it is pretty funny specially if they are lost because they sleep. There are passengers who missed their destination because they are asleep.

hi celestial!
yeah i can. sometimes i'm so sleepy that i can't help but catch a few second-nap even if i'm in a public place. ^__^;; especially if its during the afternoon and the weather is hot. and especially if you're waiting in a place where there is music and the music is slow that it kinda sounds like a lullaby. LOL but of course, that would be only a few seconds because even if i close my eyes and my mind wonders off, i'm still kinda aware of the surroundings and i'll be awake with a sudden surprise.

Dear friend,
Few times I had slept while sitting especially while travelling in long route buses and trains. Only thing is it would more comfortable if I get some where to lye my head more relaxed. Also if the driver is well in smooth driving too. The more tried I be the more I get easily sleepy while travelling.

I don't do it often, but it is very easy for me to fall asleep anywhere. It is not because I am tired, it has more to do with the fact that if I am not physically active my brain and the rest of me just shut down. I used to fall asleep in high school and college during class lectures because I could not focus on just someone talking, also documentaries and symphony concerts can put me to sleep.

I also see people falling asleep waiting for their number to be called. I haven't experienced it but I always yawn when I'm waiting for too long. I hate waiting too but if it is not important, I won't wait for 15 minutes. LOLs... But I fall asleep inside a public transportation like taxi or bus but I make it sure I'm with somebody or I know my things are safe that in a slight movement I can be awake. LOLs...

hahah we are the same. I always sleep when in public vehicle like taxi, bus, jeep, tricycle.. sometimes I can't let the vehicle stop in my destination because I am still asleep hahaha I just realize that I am 25 meters apart from my final destination.. which means I have to hike back.

Hi there!
I also have noticed that there are people who doze off while waiting for their turn or while killing time. I really can't do that especially when I am alone. There were instances I did that but I am with my boyfriend. When I am alone, I just can't. It can really be tempting though especially when you see other people doing it.

Well so far, I fell asleep on a bus I think once that's because I'm very tired and lack of sleep..but then I can't sleep in public area in sitting position. It's hard to take a nap or sleep anywhere..you might lost your things and then wake up with nothing at all... Yes, I am curious about those people that I've seen sleeping anywhere, they don't care. And even you caught them with mouth wide open they don't mind.

Hi, I hate waiting, however I will be too tensed up to sleep.
But there are people who can sleep anywhere. I was waiting for a customer, with my colleague. We were seated in the meeting room; and 20 minutes later, I heard snoring. My colleague had fallen asleep.
But nothing beats this story that my friend told me about. He brought along his assistant, to meet a customer. While he was discussing and presenting his products to the customer, he heard light snoring. His assistant had fallen asleep - this is really incredible, that the girl can sleep in the midst of a discussion!

The worst is in the classroom. I miss out on important lectures. Im feeling sleepy as I type so dont think im rude of I suddenly cut short this post. :D Happy... zzz...

One time, I unintentionally slept inside a PUV on my way home because I am so darn tired that time and when I woke up, I was a bit embarrassed coz my right arm was leaning on a stranger beside me. Well luckily she was sleeping too so I gently remove my arm. haha! After that I told myself that I will never sleep again on public vehicles!

Yea.. people do sleep but let me tell you m not in habit to do that! infact i really think that people doing this should be more careful or suppose if while traveling in bus they take their nap and somebody gets chance to steal their stuff then this NAP will cost them most!

I sleep in the jeepney (Phils) everyday. I commute everyday.
Commuting is very boring and energy-draining, so I sleep. Sometimes I get shy about it but sometimes sleep just overrides me. And when I wake up, I feel more energetic although it is only a 20-min sleep. :)

ahaha, we are the same.. I also sleep in the jeep. I don't know why my eyes are heavy when I am riding bus or jeep? going to my work early in the morning taking jeepney I can still close my eyes and have a short nap of 30 minutes.

I see that especially in airports when there is a long wait. There are always people there who are closing their eyes or looking like they are asleep. As for me, I would have to be pretty darn tired to sleep anywhere like that. I almost always am awake. I'm awake even when I try to sleep in my bed.

yeah, like in the social security office, bank, and other public
offices. and I tell you what? this is the time where the pick pocketers have the chance to pick pocket. so, if possible, we must be awake all the time.

I find it really easy to do. If I'm in something like my computer programming class I tend to fall asleep a lot while learning a new concept. My computer programming skills surpassed my teacher's years ago. Now I just sleep and work on advanced projects in that class instead of learning the basics.
