Are you a thoughtful writer or an impulsive writer?

I am a thoughtful writer too. At times I observe the same phenomena like you. I write my article in health and fitness section which requires a lot of research. I write for simple articles from experience too.

A thoughtful one......I think about it....then write it. Then think about it.....then change it......then think about it....and add to it!

I am both. For Helium a lot of articles I write there are off the top of my head. For all of my articles I try to choose topics I already know a lot about. This makes it so that any research I do is to add a tiny bit to what I already know, or to make sure that what I think I know is true. This makes it easier for me to write easy. In the end I think that I do well on the sites that I do using both methods. I keep a list of article ideas that I add to a lot. Many of these articles have a lot more thought go into them then the articles I write for Helium. After all, Helium is set up a lot differently then many of the other sites I write for.

I'm more of a thoughtful writer. I'm pretty good at organizing things in my head before I put them on paper though. I don't usually have to rewrite much. It's different for work things that take a long time and require research though. Then I'm filling in the details as I get the information.
