Ivy League Schools are the most coveted and / or most dreamt of schools of almost all students who are about to go to college. I admit, I am one of those. Though I am not able to fulfill this dream because of financial constraints, I still look forward to the day that I'll be there to attend this school.
I know that what I would learn there may be the same as the one that I would learn in a lesser known school. However, the feeling that I am missing on something is still here just because I am not in the school of my dream.
Some may say that where you study is not important. It is what you learn and what you do with what you learn are the things that matter. But then again, personally, I just can't let go of the dream.....yet.

Sometimes I think why anybody has to regret on not being selected by any of these Ivy League schools. I don't think everyone who graduated from here got the best of the jobs. If we look at the world's richest (or say successful) businessmen in the world, none has really graduated from these schools. Ok, some of them do, however; we should know that these people have natural entrepreneurial ability to become successful and that's why they are selected. Bill Gates (Harvard Dropout) made his fortune without graduation. Warren Buffet (world richest at present) doesn't have degree from Ivy League school. So I beleive, if we are capable of doing something different, we can do it by graduating from common business school.

indeed, you have a point....but you have to give it to the marketing people of these universities....even taking what you've said into consideration, there are still a lot of students- and parents for that matter, who want to attend these schools.

You have asked the same question that I have been asking for couple of months now. As I've finished my bachelor, I am seeking for good MBA program. After brief research, I came to know that MBA from Ivy League schools have high reputation. Even if you have money, the chance of getting admission is low because of high frequency of students looking for the same opportunity. So, the competition is high. So sometimes i think, is it really necessary to study in these schools? What is the quality of the education provided by the second tier business schools and other schools accredited by ministry of education? Do they provide the equal job opportunities for their graduates? I wonder if I keep on trying for Ivy league schools or just get admission in other schools.

It is really a dilemma that we, dreamers of ivy league schools, face each day. I think that there are things we have to consider. And I guess, if it really is for us, we will definitely find a way to attend our dream school. Not necessarily now, maybe a few years from now.
