Recently I have noticed a steady decline in the price of gas lately. Has anyone else? It was as high as 4.03 a gallon here and now has dropped to 3.69 ( that's still high but we are loving it!!!). Has anyone else noticed this trend? Are the prices still getting higher for you? Let us know please...

I live in Central New Jersey, about twenty minutes from New York City, and this week end I saw gas prices at $3.47, my husband actually bought gas at that price. I hope they continue to drop, because between the gas and food, and being unemployed at the time, I do not know how I am going to make it. It is a struggle trying to balance expenses, when the things you need everyday are out of control.

That's crazy. I'm from the Bronx and I would expect the prices to be higher up that way. In Myrtle Beach right now. And paying 3.69 a gallon!

Yeah, it is crazy, people are coming in from New York at boader to cash in on the lower prices. Same way people from New York were coming to Jersey to avoid the taxes, especially on clothing. I bet mrytl beach is a lot different than the Bronx ,huh

Prices here are down to $3.61 a gallon. I'm still not happy but it's something. I hope it continues to go down and not spike back up again. But I don't have my hopes up on anything.

I seriously doubt it. And I find it very sad that we even think that $2 for a gallon of gas is cheap!

Do you think it will ever go back down to under two dollars again? I am starting to doubt it highly..

Yup here in New York it's gone down from $4.25 to $3.95 over only a couple of weeks time. New York is always higher than you all down south. You know it's because of the talk about drilling. Let's just hope that that door doesn't close because you can garrentee the price will go right back up.

I know this as I am from The Bronx and commute back and forth. I haven't taken the trip recently though. And gas around here is 3.59 a gallon now!

It is also happening in Canada. I live in Winnipeg and our prices have also gone down a few cents a liter. And I could be off a couple of cents, because we did not go for a drive and I ran to the Mall to get a birthday present so I did not look at the price on the gas station. I hope this decline keeps going down. Maybe they found some oil someplace and we are reaping the benefits. Mind you it is the same as it was when we took our trip, then it went up, so there was not that much savings for us.

They are going down for me as well, but this always happens when there are upcoming elections for some reason, then they tend to climb after that, so enjoy it while it lasts because it really won't for too long. Come and go the election, as well as cheaper gas, I would still say invest in a vehicle that is more gas efficient than trust what the gas stations say.

And buy gas at the smaller ma and pop stores instead of the bigger gas corps. Bring that price down!!!!

Gas has dropped here in Central Florida too. Noticed 3.68- 3.73 today. Just a ploy to calm the masses running up to the coming election. Lets the public concentrate more on the missing white women and the Pop Tarts in Hollywood instead of real issues. Too bad milk still costs 5.00 a gallon and our utilities and grocery costs are still going thru the roof. Nothing happens by accident in our economy..............planned by the powers that be to lead and MIS lead. We need some serious changes in Washington...........I don't care which party makes them BUT they are NEEDED now!

They are still raising her in Holland, the cheapest gasoline you can get is 1.62 euros a liter. Let's do some math! A gallon is approx. 3,785 liters, so we pay about 6.13 euros for a gallon. A euro is worth about 1.47 US dollars, so we pay $9.01 a gallon in Holland. I am considering not even bothering getting a drivers license....

9 dollars a gallon!!??!!?? Impossible, I just give up. The price around my way right now is 3.58 a gallon. That's still not good but it has gone down in the past few weeks. I know it won't go back down to the 1.98 it was just a few years back. It is a shame we look forward to it at least being $2 a gallon again. Time for another fuel source for real...

AND THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE!! As long as our governments are making so much money off of this we will always suffer for it. They have no interests in cleaner burning fuels as long as money is turning over for them or until it becomes more profitable for them which it will never be. We have done some research about running our cars on water and we're trying to convert a car right now. Think of the resale value of the car!!!

yep gasoline prices are also dropping here but very slowly. for the past three weeks less than 3 pesos was dropped on the prices. still the cost per liter is very high compared to before prices started to go up. though i heard in the news that prices might go down as much as five pesos abruptly within a few weeks. am hoping that prices can somehow go back to where it was before the crises started.

It has dropped but it is still too high. Where they get people is that it is now 3.50 and people think this is such a relief. That is still way too much to be paying. Once they get people accepting these prices they will never take them back down to where they should be and people will again start using more and more so the price won't go down.

Yeah this is what we've been saying. Every year this trend continues as well. Gas prices rise then drop but never back to what it was. Only to increase the following year. With this current trend in place we will eventually be paying ten bucks a gallon!!

It is a little lower but not that much where filling up a car is not a high bill to pay. Since I take the bus or walk this it is not so bad for me but I see how it affects my friends.

And believe me more of these activities than you know are affected by the rising price of gas. The inflation it creates trickles down into every aspect of our lives. I wonder if milk prices aren't affected by the price of gasoline because it is sure going up. Broccoli is really expensive too, as well as chicken wings. Wonder if the gas prices affected the price change of chicken?

You are more than right, what I meant is that yes, things are higher for me as well but I do not have the extra burden of paying for gas. I am ok on that department you know, without a car we avoid paying for gas, insurance and whatever extras one pays for a car. The bad part of not having a car is that one spends a lot of time shopping, going to work and even to go for a movie it can be sometimes a day event for me.

I know that All I am saying is that because I do not care for a care I can afford two pounds of chicken wings vs one or none. But you are right, the gas prices went up and everything went up.

OF COURSE GAS PRICES ARE DROPPING!!! They done this every year for the past 10 years or so. Every Spring the prices start creeping up, they peak just before summer when everyone jumps in their car to go out and enjoy the weekend, then start to dip again in August. Can anyone say, "PATTERN"! Here's the catch, prices never really creep down to where they were when they started creeping up. Which should give us all a bit of the creeps. See it starts out at say $2.50 then goes up to 3.00 then comes down to 2.75, the next year from 2.75 to 3.25 the down to 3.00. Not exact figures but think about it, try to remember back the past few years and ask yourself if you've been saying, "yay, gas is going down" every August.

The sad truth is you are absolutely right about this trend. It won't stop I guess until we are paying 10 a gallon. We really need a new source of fuel people.

i reside in Southeast Missouri and the price for a regular gallon of gas is $3.49. i am not complaining about the drop in price at all. what happened to the days when you could get a gallon of gas for $1.59?

I had to be about six when I last saw prices like that! Seriously though who profits from the rise in price? Why is the price so high to begin with? When is it going to stop?
