Getting hard to re-start again

Hi Neil, People in he UK loves their holidays and most people have their own computers at home so they have no problems. I don't go out to work and have my own laptop so I'm lucky. I wish you had your own computer at home so you won't have any problems Tamara

Hi neildc, I have the same feeling after a long break. But I will do what I have to do, one by one, before I know how to motivate myself to work. After a while, I find I don't have this problem any more because I already go back to my routine. I am sorry my English is poor, I only can give the simple suggestion. Have a nice day!

I have a computer at home so this is not an issue for me. I can't imagine only being able to log onto the internet at the office. I don't have an office job either as I'm a writer. Although, I do work for a non-profit, I telecommute. When I was in school, however, I loved having a three day weekend because it meant I could spend an extra day doing what I wanted instead of running back to the grind on Monday.

The US government has been doing that too. When I was a kid we had Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays and they fell wherever they fell. Now we have President's day on a Monday instead. I don't really motivate myself. I just go back and I take it slowly. Usually there are a lot of e-mails waiting for me and I can go through them while I wake up. So where are you from?

I'm really glad to see you again best. I really missed you. As you well know, I don't work. I just stay here at home. But I think whenever I experience connection problems, I feel what you are feeling right now. It's really hard to go back to your own routine, when you got used to doing it everyday. Hi neil, It sure gets kind of difficult to motivate onself to get back to work after a long break. Invariably another day or so gets lost just getting back in to the sam state of mind. I have found that recollecting, making notes the previous day tends to help.

Hi there neildc! The principle behind holiday economics is great. But it doesn't work well in a country like ours. Having finished a course in economics, our president should have known better. The idea is that they would move the holiday to the nearest Monday to extend the weekend. The Arroyo administration introduced holiday economics in 2001 to boost local tourism industry in the country. The concept of holiday economics is something relatively new to the Philippines but is deeply rooted in other cultures. In other countries, holidays run from three days to a week. If I am not mistaken, in Europe, holidays usually fall on a Monday to extend the weekend. In Asia, the tradition is catching on quick. Truth is, not all industries benefit from this holiday economics thing. Personally, after a long weekend, I feel like extending my break to get the most out of it.

IT was really hard to do and I also hate that holiday economics when I still have work but now i find it more difficult to start mylotting cause I need to wait for my baby to sleep first before I open the computer and I must be very quiet cause once she wakes up I can no longer continue my posting here.

Well just the same, it's just that I feel more rested and more inspired to post, however, my problem is that my ISP is having some problem so my internet is on and off and therefore no matter how excited I am to post, I am being disturbed by the lack of internet connection. Oh I am really so irritated by this problem. At any rate, at least now it has been restored and so I can post now my response to you.

Good for you neil that you had a long weekend to rest whereas for me...well we hate it everytime ate glo moves the holidays on mondays because it's our day-off and we don't get paid of course.We missed a lot of holiday pays already bec. of her idea of moving the holidays on mondays..But anyway it's beneficial for those who work for the government and for students...too bad for us working in a call center..sigh. And at least I have a pc at home to do mylot and chat with friends but my eyes can't stay awake that much bec. I need to sleep early everyday..so my precious time for mylot is during sundays only..bec. monday for me is my total rest day and as much as possible I don't want to move around the house and do the chores..I just want to watch the movies I downloaded from the net and I miss how neil takes care of me when he still don't go to work.Spoiled brat.nyahaha.just kidding. I agree it's really hard to get back to work after a long weekend. Honestly that's the problem with long weekends for me I really don't have the motivation to do any work. I just hope next week after that long weekend it won't be the same as this one.

I assumed you have a long rest from your holidays.Just keep on going neil, life sucks sometimes.I feel the same sometimes also specially when i get up late.I feel like i don't want to do anything anymore.But you have start working to motivate you until you feel like working more and more.

It is very normal here in Kuwait that after an office hour for a successive 4 days work we will always have Thursday afternoon until Saturday and we will resume on Sunday morning.......and I did not do anything to motivate myself because the moment I am working in here it is already like this way so I just get used with it.

i get into it slowly, I take a lot of breaks, and I talk to my coworkers and see if they're feeling the same way. It's tough but you get through it eventaully. And just being thankful that you got a long weekend and got to enjoy your time differently is always something to think about and be grateful for
