ONE word to describe him.. BEST.. He's one of the best swimmers of all times and everytime he swims, he's bound to break records, plus he's only 23 this year.. I wonder how he's gonna be like when he reach his prime peak at age 27, by then it will be london 2012 ^_^

I think he is a phenomenal athelete. His aura is made greater by the fact, that before the Olympics itself he proclaimed that he is going for 8 golds and went ahead to do just that. To boot 7 were in world record time and one in Olympic record time. That is simply a mind-blowing achievement. No wonder he is being hailed as the greatest Olympian ever.
Cheers!

his success owes to his hard-work and his family's love. it was said that together with his mother he practiced swimming when he was 3 years old.

53kugua,
Michael Phelps will be perhaps be the swimmer, sportsman for this 21st century. Mark Spitz the former Olympiad will be swimmer, sportsman for the 20th century, who achieved 7 Olympic gold medals with 7 world records in the Munich '72 Olympics.
The number of gold medals won by Michael Phelps at this Olympics -- eight -- will live forever.
Magical in China, mystical in U.S. swimming circles, the number eight makes Phelps the greatest single-Olympics athlete in history, breaking the record of seven gold medals held for 36 years by swimmer Mark Spitz.
Eight golds, seven world records, 17 races over nine days, one of the greatest feats by any athlete ever.
The greatest achievement in this 2008 Olympics for 1 man.
