i have an asthma. i dont know how to prevent this aside from the medications that i take from my doctor. it triggers because of the weather (hot and cold weather, quick change of weather). after the quick change of the weather, a few days after i can now start to feel that i am easy to get tired and my breathing is not normal and my throat is getting dryer and dryer makes me feel to drink tons of water then the next following day i have a tonsillitis. i realy want to get this out of my body. sometimes i realy hate it. how will i prevent this asthma when the only thing that triggers this is the weather? any suggestions? how do you deal with it if you have it too?

There is nothing you can really do about it. I have asthma too. I have two inhalers, I cannot remember their names, but one is blue and one is brown. The brown one is the preventer, so if you do not have one of these then you should definitely get one. The blue one is the one you take when your asthma starts playing up, so I am assuming you have one of these.

Dear clarizz... First of all, once you have this disorder, you will never get rid of it. There is no "cure", just medication. On thing you can do to help ease the symptoms, is to drink hot tea. Tea has a natural derivative of theophilline. Asthma medication uses part of this to make AMINOPHELLINE, which is what opens up your airway, to enable you to breath. It is NOT a replacement for medication...just something that will help you breathe easier through the day. Make sure you do not smoke. Do not drink very much milk, as this will build up the mucus in your lungs. A little is OK. What is happening, is that your system is over-producing mucus in your lungs. In a sense...your are drowning. Your body in response, reacts to this over production, by "shutting itself down", and begins to close off your throat, in order to stop you from drowning. Unfortunately, if it stops for too long....well...you stop breathing. What the medication does, is dry up the mucus and opens up the airway, allowing you to breath. There are side effects to this medication...mostly constipation. BUT I'm sorry...you will always have to take it from now on. It's not a very nice thing to have, I know. But you are not alone. Just take it easy on yourself...eat healthily, and always faithfully take your medication. You will be able to life a full life, by following these simple little rules. One more thing......I AM NOT A DOCTOR! But I do have some knowledge about this disorder. If you DO have trouble breathing, and your medication doesn't seem to be working...then I urge you to seek medical attention immediately. Call 911! I wish you well. Take care of yourself. crazydaisy

I have had Asthma and Allergies my whole life, so I can relate. Anyway, exercise, eat right, get your tonsils out if you need to (I did, and it helped me a lot), drink a lot of water, stay out of bad weather, stay away from smoke, stay away from smog, stay away from fog, stay away from roaches, stay away from things that you are allergic to and that can trigger your Asthma and Allergies, take any and all medication that you need to take that is prescribed by your doctor, and do your best to live a stress free life. For most all of us Asthmatics, it will never go away, you will have it for the rest of your life. There is no cure for Asthma, just a lot of treatments. You can go outside of the country to try and find a cure, but it will cost you and you will have to do a lot of research on it. I empathize completely with what you are going through because I am going through it to, but since I have done just about everything on that list, my Asthma is under control. I have not used my Albuterol in a long time because I am taking better care of myself. Asthma is two things, genetic and environmental, mostly environmental, and more and more people in my generation, and the generation after me, are being diagnosed with it these days. I am 23 years of age, and I have had it since I was a baby. I was probably born with it. There were a lot of people at my high school and college who were diagnosed with Asthma and Allergies and they heard the same thing that my doctors told me. You have to take better care of yourself and it might never go away. Some people get lucky and they grow out of it, but some people are not so lucky. I did not grow out of mine, but I am managing it. I will be on Flovent for the rest of my life, but I am also on things to help boost my immune system and to really help me battle Asthma. It has been a long battle. A website I recommend is The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, you can yahoo search them, and they will give you a lot of information. Web MD and Wikipedia also have some great info on them about Asthma and Allergies as well. Asthma and Allergies do tend to go hand in hand because most people with Allergies will have Asthma, and most people with Asthma will have Allergies.

Ok, I don't understand. Aren't you seeing a physician to treat your asthma? Don't they know that weather changes can trigger an attack? If so, then why aren't they prescribing a daily medication to treat it? I too have asthma, and yes chemicals, smells, mold, and weather can trigger an attack for me. I take daily medication for it, as well as carry an inhaler every where I go. You should be doing the same. Asthma can kill. Mine has gotten bad enough that I also require oxygen frequently and have a tank here at home now. You need to contact your doctor and make an appointment to deal with this.

I've never heard of stages of asthma before. I can tell you that I use a nebulizer four times a day with albuterol and then twice a day with pulimicort. I also carry an albuterol inhaler with me everywhere. My oxygen is worn at night while I sleep and during the day only as needed. If you don't have good control with what you are using now then your doctor needs to change out your medications.

I really hope this would help you, well what I know is that to alleviate or to diminish attacks, the person should GRADUALLY expose herself\himself on what triggers the attacks. Swimming can also help to lessen the attacks, doctors discovered that it can exercise your respiratory system to become strong. One of my cousin had an asthma before but after a one major asthma attack when she was still a kid and she was rushed to the hospital for some immediate care, since then she'd never had another attack until now she is 24. I'm not saying that you should have a major attack, I think it is just the matter how your body will adjust or should I say be immune on those attacks and also have a healthy body especially your respi system.

I suffer from bronchial Asthma. I use Advair as well as Albuterol inhalers. I suffer when I go from the heat to the cold in the winters. I suffer going from the AC to the heat in spring and summer. I can't think of anything to stop the attacks I have so I suffer is all. The Advair is used as a detterent to attacks which helps slightly. the Albuterol is used during an attack to open my bronchial tube to help me breathe. I trey to avoid going in and out a lot to keep from having attacks. It is something I have come to live with ans deal with since childhood. Can't really help you much. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

By boosting your immune system, you may also reduce the number of asthma attacks you get in extreme weather conditions, either hot or cold. There are some natural supplements you can take to do this such as: Vitamin C - Ginseng - Licorice - Magnesium All of these help boost your immune system. Obviously, don't smoke and try to use natural cleaners in the home like water, vinegar, lemon juice and teatree oil. By keeping your health at its optimum best, you can perhaps lower the amount of attacks you have. My last piece of advice would be to begin practicing yoga. Yoga is a great way to relieve stress, which is also a trigger for asthma attacks. Also, the breathing techniques will help you strengthen your lung capacity as well. Good luck to you!

I had bronchial asthma when I was a kid, then when I was in my high school i started having skin asthma, and now I still have it. I dont know if there is a cure for this, but I think we can only take preventive measures to get away with the attacks. Anyway, ask your doctor about your tonsilitis, because I heard that frequent inflammation in the tonsils has an effect in your heart. Im really not sure about it though, but still, better ask your doctor about it so you can have it removed if ever that's true than face heart problems when you get older. PS. Like my skin asthma, that attacks whenever there is change in weather, keep yourself in a controlled environment. Like an airconditioned room whenever possible. Get some light exercises too then upgrade it from time to time. I also heard that swimming is good for those who have bronchial asthma :-)

Hi... I dont have asthma problems but i think i have some suggestion for you. I met breathing problems before. I know how suffering it is. But recently you feel hard breath is it because of stress? Actually when you feel stress your lung muscles will become tight then make you feel hard to breath. You can do some meditation to calm down yourself and try to breath slowly. Dont watch horror movies when you not feeling well. Avoid doing exercise that will make you feel tired easuly like basketball and badminton. Do some easy exercise like walk around at your place. Eat more fruits. It helps too. Dont eat too much fried foods. Hope all these help you!! Happy myloting!!

Hi friend ,sorry to hear that you have asthma.I have experienced a lot of suffering for years bcoz of wheezing. Now I dont even use a puff.a very good remedy for asthma is breathing exercise.I practiced yoga immdiately I found out the results.Pranayama is very important ,try practicing that.when you breathe in and breathe out the lungs expand and thats very relaxing for asthmatic people.but howmany ever medications you take there is no use.YOU'l get this problem again and again.so this is the only remedy and am telling you from my experience.have a nice day keep mylotting.

In my opinion, if we can understand the root cause of asthma, the problem is solved. There are so many reasons behind this asthma. My friend found the root cause for his problem. That was one of the flower bloom in his garden. Finally he could cure it.

Hi - its best to take specific inhalers to ease your breathing. Some may be needed to be taken continuously for a few months - evn when you are well so as to prevent recurrent attacks (steroids) Other precautions - avoid dust - make sure your mattress and pillow are dry and dust-free and dustmite free - Put a plastic sheet around your pillow when you sleep - Avoid strong smells and perfumes. - Avoid flowers and pollen About the weather and cold-induced asthma, I guess you can't do much

Hi clarizz... Avoid inhaling dust and smokes. Try to relax and avoid stress. Pollen and even animals hair can trigger asthma. Better yet stay a cold place, or you should on your air conditioned as often. I don't have asthma but my grandmother and aunt's are suffering from these illness. You should take care your self and don't work hard.
