which do you preffer to use? your laptop or a pc desktop?why?
for me i prefer of having that 2.but right now im only using my desktop computer, because dont have to buy a new laptop, but what are its advantages? the advantages of laptops is, you can bring them anywhere, where you want to go to you can surf the net everywhere, work anywhere if your a freelance.disadvantage is u cant upgrade its hardware if you want to.its so risky to open a laptop to upgrade. desktop is a vice versa thing. u cant work anywhere you want. you just stay at home when u want to surf the net. but for upgrading, its so easy for me to do that.how bout you which do you preffer?

I'd much rather have a laptop. I want it because I would be able to stay in my room most all the time. I hate having to walk all the way downstairs and sit in an uncomfortable chair for hours. And plus I want a hi tech gaming laptop so I can play games in my bed. That's my goal right now.

Hey,
I like to use both for their own purposes. My laptop is newer and faster than my desktop, so i use my lappy for playing games, running heavy apps and watching movies(LCD). But for regular stuff, typing stuff(like MyLotting), i use my desktop. But nowadays, i use my wireless keyboard and mouse with my laptop and enjoy the best of both worlds :D
Cheers!

Depends on how you would be using the computer. Desk tops have more versatility when it comes to hardware upgrading so it can run even the most technical applications and expandable memory allows it to store more than you can ever need though, you can also do that with certain laptops but, convenience in mobility is obviously questionable. The power supply on the other hand is depended on its availability. If there is still power coming from the socket where it is plugged in, you can use it more longer.
The upgrades that I think that you can only do with laptops would be increasing its RAM and hard disk capacity. Aside from that, I think it would even be more expensive to upgrade the other parts like the LCD or disk drive incase there's one available and compatible with your laptop. Being mobile as it is, laptops still depend on batteries unless you'd go where an outlet is available for you to plug that laptop to.
As much as convenience that laptops can provide and satisfaction with hardware capability desktops have to offer, as I said before, it depends on how one would be using the computer and how it satisfies them which determines if they would prefer a laptop or a desktop..
Right now, posting this comment, I'm using my dad's laptop but, I still like our desktop better.. its just that right now, I'm conveniently using the laptop to participate in this discussion but, this laptop doesn't have the necessary specs for it to run some applications which are already possible in our desktop.
Good day!

i also have this discussion before. but anywayz, i will choose desktop coz desktop lasts long, my cousins desktop is already 8-9 years old but still in good condition, unlike laptop. laptop will only last for about 5-6 years, and it's hard to find the parts of a laptop & its expensive unlike desktops hehehe..

I'd much rather have a P.C
My experience of laptops is if they are not mantained, they very quickly become slow.
I use P.C's as i find them more easy to cope with

When I was young I was using a desktop but for several years now I've been using a laptop since it is more convenient for me. The keys are much softer and I've gotten used to them.I am not a gamer so I really don't need high specifications.Where I go, my laptop goes so obviously it's my choice.

For me laptop is convenient to use because you can carry it anytime anywhere. It is also light and handy. While desktop just sits in one place and you have to be in front of it whenever you like. But right now I am using desk top computer. I am looking forward to having a laptop soon.

I'd prefer a Laptop, for a simple reason "Handy", esp. for those students who have to finish a group case study or research papers before the deadline.

hmm, i use both. i connect to the internet using my desktop pc butmy important files are in my laptop. i don't want to use my laptop to surf the net because i want to protect it from viruses and all kinds of malware. of course, when i leave the house and have to connect to the net, then i have no other choice but to use it but that's one of those rare cases.
i personally prefer a laptop since it's portable and doesn't have all that bulk but the downside is, you can't upgrade the hardware :(

My preference is for a laptop, although I do have both. My desktop is used more like a backup server. I love my laptop I can do everything I can do with a desktop and can do more as I can take the laptop with me, and if I can find a hotspot with internet access and surf anywhere

thats a really nice response. you can surf everywhere. but in terms of upgrading it, you'll find hard to upgrade a laptop.have to buy a new one for a fast one.
thanks for your response

i only have a laptop. i think it is a lot easier to use a laptop. you can carry it anywhere you want to go. and pc is somewhat too big. you could only place it in your room. i would prefer to use a laptop

I have a desktop at home right now and i'm happy with it because everything is big and most important of all is that it's lasting/durable as compared to laptop ^_^
However i'm thinking of buying a laptop too so that i can use it whenever i want instead of sharing a desktop with my bro.. hehe =D PLus having a laptop is more convenient for me, so that i can carry it to wherever i go, though not as lasting but it at least solve my temporary problems ^_^

for me, laptop because your right upon saying that it can bring anywhere but if you dont have money, why should you buy a laptop?
pc or laptop is just the same upon searching or browsing... but if you based it on their advantages and disadvantages, laptop may be more suitable for us who are using pc's...
but i'll refer you to a pc because, they are still a computer, but only in the house or office and they are also affordable to buy...

I prefer desktop because I am a fan of computer games. The speed and color of desktop are better than laptop. I could enjoy my game experience by the desktop. But if you use computer to do office work, I think laptop that suits you.
