Do You Sell Your Beaded Jewelry?

I've been looking at some of the stuff on eBay and thinking that when I used to buy normal earrings, I hated how all the people there used cheap junk it seemed. I've only just started making earrings, but so far I always use real sterling silver (which I can't wear myself due to allergies, but I love the look of it). Does anyone here sell their beaded jewelry on eBay or elsewhere? Is it hard to sell or do you find that it's worth it? I've discovered that I would only need to sell each pair for $5 plus shipping for the costs/labor to be realistic. Would that be too much to hope for?

I make and sell jewelry. The thing to remember about ebay is that people are looking for a deal and the listing fees can really eat into your profits. I would suggest looking into etsy.com.

Thank you very much for that advice! I will definitely look into Etsy instead. I like eBay only because I know eBay already, but I do notice on there that the jewelry wouldn't sell for much.

Etsy.com is a site for selling handmade items. They give you your own shop to list your items. They do have listing fees and final sales fees, but it is cheaper that ebay. People shopping at etsy.com are going there to find handmade things and they know the value of handcrafted items. This allows you to really charge what your jewelry is worth. The site is very popular. I have notice that sellers that have a lot of items up for sale get more sales. Part of that is that they show up in searches more just because of volume. Etsy has a lot of how-tos and stuff to help you become a successful seller.

jewelry - beaded jewelry
Hi there! Yes I do sell my beaded jewelries. We used to own a craft store but we recently closed it. Eventhough we stopped operating I have lots of materials left and still have buyers so I continued my jewelry making hobby. With regards to the price. It would really depend on what type of material you use. If you use semi-precious stones or swarovskis then I think $5 dollars is enough. You can even make it a little higher for swarovskis. But if its just plain beads then $5 is a bit expensive for it. Hope that helps. Ciao!

I use glass beads and sterling silver. I don't like swarovskis at all so I don't use those, but I do have a lot of semi precious gemstones. Although, I usually set those as pendants and stuff like that rather than buying the kind for beading, but I might in the future.

Hi Pigglies - no, i haven't sold any jewellery, I have only made some as gifts for people - I usually just make bracelets like the one in your picture, but with different beads. $5 sounds a very good price - I don't know if I would bother making them for that price - I suppose it depends how quick you are at making them, probably faster than me!

On eBay I rarely see anything go for over $5, so I guess I meant that as the minimum starting price. Although, that would be for earrings. Bracelets would probably take me forever to make. I use sterling silver, nylon wire or sterling silver wire depending on the design, and glass beads. I guess I should probably try for more, but I don't want to end up making a bunch and having them not sell.

Hi I live in Dominican Republic and here is not that hard to find a store that wants to sell the projects we make, a couple of years ago I had a little kiosk in a Mall and I sold Gifts. I enjoy doing specifically bracelets, Iam very diverse in my styles I use many different material and I do not repeat my designs every one is unique! I did sell a very good amount of those; I also bought some jewelry from few girls that went to offer me. Some left the jewelry for me to sell for a while and I paid what ever was sold. I haven't tried to sell on e-bay because from my country the shipping and handling is too expensive. I have stopped doing my bracelets for a while but I will revise my pictures to see if I have some to download.

That is wonderful that you have so many places to sell your jewelry there. I haven't made anything in awhile since I've been so busy. But I did get a lot of really cool new beads.

i also sell jewelry. I have a website. But i do not have that much business. i was just visiting the domican republic and if i could live there and put a stand in the vacation spots where the people from america come (like where I went) i would make a killing. I even bought some there and it looks like stuff i would make but cheaper and i got suckered in for a few pieces. Even tho i hangled it down it was still a little pricy. but those domicans can make me buy anything. ..lol i wish i could live there.
