I am an undergraduate student in China and I my major is English with specilization on teaching Chinese as a second language. I would like to be a teacher in a college or university who teach Chinese to non-chinese speakers, so a BA is not enough. Considering that international education background is important to my career, I have decided to go to America for further study. However, I don't know which specific program I should enroll. There are some program which I suppose may be suitable for me such as linguistic, applied linguistic, second language acquisition and Chinese language and literature. Moreover, I need financial aid which at least convers half of the expense to complete my graduate study.
I have visited some universities's websites and search information about those programs, but I still can't figure out which one would be suitable for my situation. It seems easier to get an assistantship if I apply for Chinese language and literature, but dose it strange for a chinese native speaker to go the America to study Chinese?
