I need help with regards to my laptop. I can't seem to work

the wife in my compaq presario laptop B1256TU series. does someone know where I can get a driver for the wifi. how can I make it work?

You can try searching the driver at hp.com HP and Compaq now are under one roof..... Hope that i;m helping............ If you cannot find it there, there is only one solution, go to the place that you buy the laptop and ask them for the driver, their will install it for you - it suppose to be free coz this happen to me to - exactly the same problem.... Just that my laptop is Compaq Presario V3010AU......

wow, thanks for your response... now I can see the driver I can use for the wifi... only I don't know what to download? The driver under "network" ( here is the link-- http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&lang=&product=3674867&dlc= ) has 5 kinds of drivers: ethernet drivers for microsoft windows vista, support software for integrated bluetooth wireless, HP wireless assistant, Intel Pro/wireless driver for microsoft vista & broadcom wireless lan drivers for microsoft vista. again, thanks for your assistance

You can search in www.driverguide.com You surely find the driver there.. just install it and have fun..

Do you know the MFG of the wifi card? if so you can go to their website and possibly get a driver. I am sure and I just checked and yes you can go to HP.com and search your laptop series and there is a link there so you can get the drivers for your laptop

I did find the driver under HP Compaq Presario here's the link ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&lang=&product=3674867&dlc= ) but there were 5 downloads. anyway, I just downloaded the last one which was the broadcom LAN & the latest which was the ethernet.

Perhaps it might be easier to contact the vendor directly? Otherwise you might be able to search the web or download.com for the driver. Configuration is separate issue :p

When I bought the laptop, I asked for a CD for the drivers but the vendor told me that I can download all the drivers in the HP site. I also asked if they already have the drivers with them so I can copy, but they don't. Since I got the laptop at a very good discount, I didn't insist. Thanks for your response :)
