Unforgiven Main Event

August 19, 2008 7:21am CST
On this week’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, it was announced that there will be a World Heavyweight Championship Scramble at next month’s Unforgiven pay-per-view. Five WWE Superstars including the World Heavyweight Champion, will compete in a twenty minute match. Once the bell rings, anyone can get a pinfall on anyone else and become Champion. The title will be able to change several times throughout the match. Whoever has the championship at the end of the twenty minutes will be declared the winner. The participants announced were: - World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk - Kane - JBL - Batista - John Cena Mabye this will be a good shot at getting all men to have atleast one go witht eh title. It means if you pin someone before 20 mns u have the world title, but still defending it, and the last person to have it will win after 20 mins. So mabye it coud mean Kane can become a World Champion again, no matter how long it lasts, JBL can get it, as can Cena and Batista, but this will be interesting.

Matches like these keep peoples hang around WWE show. Really WWE creative team has worked smart to make this type of match. Also matches like these, make peoples of all ages to watch the show.

Yeah, mabye it will give the characters a slight boost, Ksne just lost the ECW Championship, so it will be fair that it gets passed around everyone in the ring, and then mabye it will fall on JBL....gives the chance for everyone to improve their repetoire, especially Kane.

Im glad the WWE is making a different type of match besides the typical one on one and the always unfair triple threat match where one guy can just hang around til the end outside the ring and run in to claim a cheap one, two, three. We should see the title change hand numberous time, but I have a gut feeling JBL will end up with it in the end since he is being built up as the ultimate heel of the group and cm punk is the current champion and ultimate good guy. Kinda strange that Y2J isnt included in the championship scramble, makes me think we havent seen the end of shawn michaels just yet.

I dont like this idea kind of brigns the whc to hardcore championship level especially if these wrestlers get a lot of title reigns because of this match. But it should deffintley be intresting and fun to watch. I just wish they had some type of tourney to decide who would be in the match since I know kane dosnt deserve to be in it neither does jbl. I would of perfer to seen y2j instead of kane or jbl in the match.

I do think Kane deserves it, but yeah Y2J could have been in it, mabye have another person in it as well, but you gotta work with a time frame.

finally a match that is worthy of praise. i think wwe creative outdid themselves this time out. i think this type of match was doen before but for the hardcore and ic titles in the attitude era. glad that it's making a comeback. i think the line-up can still be improved. obviously, you won't be seeing a cena or batista win in this match. i think they continue their rivalry until the end of the year. i don't see kane winning this one as well nor do i see jbl getting the title at the end of the match. tha leaves punk again as the top man with the belt. i think punk deserves to hold on to the belt longer. he is a deserving champion and i feel that his full potential isn't reached yet. i think it'll be nice for him to go up against the hardys, hbk, jericho, and even the newer ones from ecw (their names escape me at the moment but they are all part of long's program). i even think a nice champion vs champion match with shelton benjamin will do good. even mvp is a good match for punk. i know this is not ppv material matches but just so we get somethign new on the palte, i think wwe shoudl explore having these matches in their regular programs. back to the line-up, i think it can do without cena and batista. jbl is understandable because he did meet punk these past two times. kane is ok as well just because i don't know what to type anymore but my choice to be in that match are elijah burke and that soviet guy from smackdown. ithink it'll be more interesting. two middle tier wrestlers out to make a name for themselves are given a chance to hit big. sounds interesting eh? not quite finished, i'd also liek to see regal in the mix as well. regal did defeat punk in the kign of the ring tournament so from punk's point of view, he still has something to prove against regal. just my thoughts.

I agree to an extent, I think it should be passed around atleast once to everyone in this match, and if you believe Punk should keep it, then let it land back on him, it would make him a 2 time qworld champ after, but it would also make JBL and Kane a two time qworld champ, and I wouldnt like to see Cena and Batista as btoh 4 time world champs, but its interesting to see how it goes, Smackdowns line-up is fresher, in the sense that most of the pople in it are newer on average, and could do well, although a world title, I beleive isnt suitable to start someone off in a career although, it can give them a huge boost.

let just read that smackdown will have a simialr mathc up in unforgiven. i think smackdown took it a notch better because they are having qualifying matches to determine who will be involved in the title match. the first qualifying match is between jeff hardy and khali. kind a toss up really as i wouldn't mind seeing both of these two in the title match. anyway, smackdown ups the ante and does better that raw again which is not surprising. raw has been laggign in terms of creativity in matches and storyline but let's leave that for another discussion. back the the title match. i think kennedy, kozlov, festus, and finlay deserve a spot in the title scramble. kozlov and festus are beasts and i had lots of fun watching these two in competition against each other. i think these two will have multiple matches agaisnt each other in the future and these matches will be great. both are heavy hitters, both are power players but certainly the difference in personalities is intriguing to say the least. kennedy deserves to have teh title and i think hhh does a great service to the sport if he paves the way for kennedy to win the title. i think a kennedy-hhh matchup will be great as well. as for finlay, i ahve always loved his persona and his fighting style and i think he can make a legitimate shot/challenge against hhh although i think he won't be a very good/popular title holder. just my thoughts.

well, smackdown already had qualifying matches for the championship scramble and here is the final list of participants: the brian kendrick mvp shelton benjamin jeff hardy looking at the line-up, there is no doubt that hhh retains the title. its good that their given shelton and brian kendrick the push and hoepfully we see these two in more prominent matches. i think kennedy should have been in the scramble and a kennedy-hhh feud for the title will be great. just my thoughts.

Finally they are making matches that are worth watching. I don't recall this ever being done with the Heavyweight belt. I t was done alot with the hardcore belt and IC belt. If this is a sneak preview of the type of matches they will have, I may get the next PPV as well.
