Has anyone tried Stevia? I am thinking of trying it but I am not sure. It is a non-caloric natural sweetner. Has anyone had any adverse effects from using this product? Product description: The species Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni, commonly known as sweetleaf, sweet leaf, sugarleaf, or simply stevia, is widely grown for its sweet leaves. As a sugar substitute, stevia's taste has a slower onset and longer duration than that of sugar. http://www.stevia.net/history.htm Any and all information about this product would be extremely appreciated, especially those dieters that have tried Stevia. Thanks in advance :)

Thank you so much for sharing! I think that I will try it, it does sound promising. I have even visited sites with recipes. I mostly would like a sweetener for my beverages as drinking water all of the time tends to get boring and tiring. I do shop Amazon, so I will certainly check the book section out! Thanks again :)

Yup! I use stevia, honey and only natural RAW and organic cane sugar to sweeten things. (No popular bleached white sugars.) Stevia is a plant sweetener and take a few tries to get used to. But once you do, it is healthier and diabetics are even OK with it. It's about 10 times sweeter than sugar, so don't overdo it. -But I use it. Once you get used to it being green ..because its's a plant..it'll be one of your favourite sweeteners! Honey is also great and, because it's pre-digested by the bees, also OK for diabetics! But I love stevia and always have it in the house to use!

Thank you so much for your response. I just read an article about Stevia last night and was wondering because I am always looking for something healthier to consume. I do use organic cane sugar and I love it, but as you know it does have calories. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer as it really means a lot to find others that have tried a new to me product :)
