were you ever unsatisfied with how you look?

i mean let's face it. we people are, by nature, a perpetually discontented lot. we always like something better than what we have. we are never satisfied with what is ours at the moment. i admit there are times in a month that i don't exactly like what i see in the mirror. i sometimes wish i was a little fairer, and my hair a little straighter. back in high school when i went to prom, i seriously wished i was 2 inches shorter that night because none of the guys who were smaller than me dared to ask me for a dance, which is sad because that's what's being in a prom is about, right? that wish to become shorter even persists until today. my husband is an inch shorter than I am, and we would always playfully compare the differences in our heights. although we never take it seriously, i sometimes wish there is a height reduction pill in the market (hee hee) which could make my dream come true. but anyway, enough about me. what aspects of your physical appearance do you sometimes wish would change? if a genie would pop right in front of you and gave you the choice to change anything about your body, what body parts would it be and why? :)

Many times I felt bad about my height. I am fair enough for my region, but my height is the only thing I really feel bad about. I am just 5 feet 6 inches

yeah, no one is perfect , even those movie stars, many of them undertake many times' plastic surgery. but, let's face it, as long as we don't hate to see our face in the mirror, that's the BOTTOM LINE.

Hi There Kayedanda, We'll it's true that nobody's perfect but we are created as we are. We might not have the perfect face and body but if we are only satisfied with what we are, those imperfections will vanish. In my case, i am satisfied with how i look because i understand that this is God-given gift. I may not have the ideal height, nose, face, body figure but still i would like to believe that i am special created by the image and likeness of God. Happy MyLoting! Have a great day!

At this point in time, yes I am not quite satisfied with the way I look. I've gained weight when I gave birth to my son two years ago. And, I still can't bring back my figure before I gave birth. Though, I've lost some already coz I am doing some diet but still I am not satisfied. I just hope I could attain the same figure I have back then.

I try really hard not to wish anything different for my body. I sometimes wonder what I'd do if I had a plastic surgeon boyfriend, or husband. Would I take advantage of his offers of "I'll do whatever you want for free..." It sure would be tempting of course. A nip here, and a tuck there, and so on. I'd be scared that once I got started, I wouldn't be able to quit. I'm tall, too, 5/8". I like it now, there's something regal about it. Even if I gain a little weight, if I carry myself right, it dosn't really show. I guess it's a matter of accepting my body the way it is. There's a reason for it. I try to be grateful that it's healthy, I try and use it for good. I also know that what's inside a person, in their heart, the soul, is what really counts. The beauty of the soul always shines through, and no matter what your body may look like, you are always beautiful and full of divine qualities. I try to focus on this, and not how my body looks to others, or to myself. I try to focus on how I am as the divine spark, or soul, inside this body. I'm only in it for a brief amount of time. I go on, however. I do try and take care of this body I'm in for now, it's been given to me, and I need to try and not abuse it in any way. That includes trying to change it.

I would like my hair to be straighter, and my teeth to be whiter and straighter. These are my two main dissatisfaction but I have come to live with it.

This one is easy. I think we all can be our own worst critic. There are many things I don't like about my appearance on any given day. Mostly I wish I were thinner. But when I was thin, I wished I were heavier. I wish I had my youth back. I feel that way, yet in the past month I've been carded 4 times to see if I were legally 21. I'm 44. So what am I looking at and what are those people seeing. If a genie gave me a choice, I would want to be slim and toned. I guess that is what I think of as attractive.

There isn't anything about my body that I would change. I like the way I look. I can't say there is one thing that in my opinion needs changing. Why would I waste my precious time wishing I would-could change the way I was born!!!! Becca

I am sure that a lot of people would like to change some physical aspect of their selves. I would like to change my legs. I have some varicose veins that have progressed a little over the years I believe from standing too much at certain jobs. They could be worse and my husband says I don't need surgery. It really is expensive for surgeries I imagine. There are people out there willing to get the surgeries whatever the cost because you are right. As people by nature we seem to be discontented with ourselves.

Yes. Many times. I think people are unsatisfied with how they look. For faired skin women, they like to be tanned and in vise versa. That's just an example of how people are unsatisfied with what they've got. When I was a kid, i was very fat. When I was young, people find it cute but not when I grew up and became fatter. So, because I was unsatisfied, I took whatever it takes to be thin and now I'm slimmer compared to my gradeschool days. But I'm not satisfied yet. Not with my weight but with my complexion. LOL. Another problem. LOL

I've just learned to love myself for me. The one thing I've learned to do is to not compare myself with others. I think everyone has something attractive about them, whatever it may be. God does not make anybody ugly, so you have to work with what you have.

During my growing up years I have an inferiority complex because of the way I look. I am too plain & awkward. But as i learned to improve myself, i gain self-esteem & no longer looking for more. I already accepted how i look now.

I think I knew pretty early on in life that I was not an attractive child, and at that stage I always envied the thin, blonde girls at school. The older I got, however, the less I cared - and I've never been interested in clothes or make-up because I knew those things were not going to make a difference. Now I'm 50, I'm really comfortable with who I am and don't feel the need to impress anyone in any way. Nobody can help looking the way they do - some people are blessed with good genes and others get a raw deal through no fault of their own - either way, there's no need to be ashamed OR proud. We are what we are, and we'd all be a lot happier in life accepting what we'd been given.

Hi...I guess I don't actually hate the way I look. It's just that I got frustrated when I went shopping wanting the clothes I used to wear. I'd loved to wear those fancy clothes on display. But when I try it on, they just don't look good on me for I've gained so much weight. The worse thing is...I can't get in it! I'm thinking of going on a diet...

kayedanda, kayedanda... Every body has a flaw, even all the miss Universe girls that have existed! That's the reason Plastic surgeon is one of the medicine branches best paid, I think even better than Brain Surgeon! (hee, hee, hee) I have nothing against plastic surgery, IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY, IT CAN BE THAT BAD! Personally Nothing bothers me that much, that surgery it's an option. Any how yes, some times I dislike my height as you, just contrary Iam 5.5" but I wish I would be taller, You see a admired long legs. Overall I concider myself lucky not because people find me pretty, but because most of the times I can live Happyly with my IMPERFECTIONS. Every one has a bad day, CHEER UP your not alone!

yeah, we are very insecure by nature, and i myself always wish that i have an hour glass body. though my hubby never complain about it, i myself don't see it that way. I wanted to look as slim as a was 7 years ago but i can't seem to find enough courage to drag myself to exercise or burn calories....lol
