mistaken for somebody else

i remembered this particular scene of my life from way back when i was in grade six and had really short hair (i ended up looking like a boy. i wonder why my mom cut my hair like that.hmmm). i went to the market to buy stuff and i was facing this store when i was playfully hit in the back of the head with an older guy who said at the same time, "hoy!anong ginagawa mo jan!" (hey, what the hell are you doing there?). naturally, i was shocked and very irritated. imagine having a total stranger hit you in the back of the head without any reason whatsoever. when i faced the guy my eyebrow was totally up, and i said "aray! sino ka ba??" (ouch! who are you anyway??) the guy turned red in the face and apologized profusely. he said he thought i was his buddy (yeah, a BOY buddy). if i had been shocked, imagine his bewilderment when he found out that not only he hit the head of someone he doesn't know, he hit the head of a girl! which led me to the resolution that i'll never cut my hair on such a short length anymore. i wouldn't dare risk another encounter like that, lest i lose my temper and hit the person in the face in return. :p have you ever been mistaken for somebody else? share us your experience :)

Ouch... Haha... It really is a good thing you didn't hit the person back... because I definitely would... Hmmm.. I didn't have such a traumatic experience as you did but yes, I was mistaken for someone else. There was someone who looked like me when I was in college (and yes, we did look alike. People would often ask if we were sisters.) Anyway, one day my teacher told me (out loud) in front of other people that he saw me last month and that I was pregnant. I was really confused and said that it wasn't me but he was really firm in saying it. I said "Sir, obviously it wasn't me because I'm not pregnant." Lol. Then someone mentioned to him that it was probably the girl who looked like me... and it was. That was sort of embarrassing on my part since people were like looking back at me then at my teacher. Haha. Ohwell.
