How do you drink your beer - from a chilled mug, pilsner or the bottle itself?

Hi everyone! I have a bar tender friend and he told me that to truly enjoy drinking beer, I should take it from a chilled mug. Cause if I take it from pilsner my hand would be touching the glass always and my body temperature warms the beer. Of course, warm beer just ain't right. It's much worse if I drink it straight from the bottle. I take up much air as the beer and only end up with a gut stuffed with bubbles. Besides, that's unlady like. So what about you guys? How do you drink your beer? Any other interesting ways on how to drink it? Please do share!
