I find libraries are not the quiet places they used to be! I find they can be quite noisy especially with some children and even adults making phone calls on their cellphones and chatting. When I didn't have the internet at home I used to go to the library every day to get a free hour on the computer which was useful, I had to take my Ipod with me as I couldn't concentrate. I like to get out books too, there is so much information to be found at the library, especially about events going on in the town, clubs and social gatherings too, as well as information on the theatre.

I think library are amazing places that equalize the presuite of knowledge. Everybody rick or poor what ever there back round can go to the library. The computer and the librarian don't know your back story. They are just there to help you. I think that library are one of the last bastions of equity in America were we are victim of growing inequality. Do to the growing wealth gap.

I love bookstores, especially used book stores. But I have built up my own library of favourite authors and non-fiction books that I don't need to go to the library to find good selection of books to choose from.

I like libraries in general. I'm quite a bookworm so its a natural environment for me. It's like a place of refuge for me. I love to read on a variety of subjects. It's quite, peaceful, and serene there. A nice place to relax and contemplate things as well. And for some odd reason I love the distinct odor/scent of a library. I don't know if you guys understand what I mean but books and other moldy tomes emanate a certain smell that's highly unusual such that you can always tell that you are in a library even if you were blindfolded.

I know what you mean by the smell of the library, I love it. I also like the smell of the book pages themselves, I like sticking my face in an open book and inhaling in the crisp smell. I'm not wierd, lol

I went to my first library when I was about 10 and discovered that wonderful resource. I have been going to libraries ever since. I have bought and sold collections of books over the years and am pained every time I sell them but now I have my own library in my home so I don't have to get rid of my books anymore. Now I use the library to find books by authors I haven't previously read. If I like their style, I will go out and purchase their new works and use the library to catch up on previous works. I have over 2000 books and have read every one of them more than once. Nothing will ever replace a good library. Happy reading!

I could spend all day in the library all day as well. I have a job to choose what books to bring out and its even worse when I take the children as they want to bring all the books home and they aslo want me to read lots of books to them as they can't bring them home with them

I do enjoy going to the library every once in awhile. I haven't visited in a long time, but I do enjoy. Now that I have more time available, I plan to start going once again. I enjoy going to the library just to read other books that I can borrow instead of just buying.

I guess I love the library. It has been a long while since I have been in a library but, I just loved the place whilst I was there. I didn't really read much! This sounds ironic doesn't it! My reason for this was that I was using their computers to gain access to the Internet. I didn't have the Internet at home back then so I had to go to the library. There would be the odd occasion though that I would search amongst the shelves and pick up any book at random that I thought was interesting. Will I ever go back to the library? Perhaps! You just don't know what is around the corner. I may go back, I definitely have no objections. Andrew
