Flight Delayed

We've had a lot of storms lately... all over the continent, well probably all around the world. I'm usually locked up in a house during a storm and don't experience the harshness of them. Last night my daughter's soccer game got stopped when we saw lightning in the distance and then the darkest clouds I've ever seen came floating over us. The game did get cancelled.
I had another experience last week, worthy of writing about. So you can read it here:

I don't go to the airport very often so this was no picnic.

I don't like storms either especially when the power goes out.
I enjoyed reading your article and definitely know how you feel. I also read "The House on Ridge" and it was nice to see a glimpse of your childhood and your home :) thanks for sharing.

Thanks, maddysmommy. Power outages at home are one thing, but in a public place with only emergency lighting on (and clueless me not knowing that there was a power outage), it's a little more scary.
A writing friend of mine insists "The House on Ridge" is worthy of submitting to the local newspaper. I'm still thinking about it. Thanks again for your support.

Good idea!!!!! It stormed last week when my husband flew in to Canada, and his flight was delayed a couple of hours, and then he had to circle around Toronto in a cloud with no visibility for an hour, and I was jumping up and down waiting for him to land. I was checking his flight at the airport, and watching it['s progress on the computer, just waiting for it to land, LOL The suspense was driving me nuts, but he eventually landed

The problem here was because of the power failure, the monitors weren't updating properly. So the arrival time changed to 8:23 but when it didn't arrive by then the time didn't change on the board. It only changed when it said "landed". And landed didn't necessarily mean "arrived" since they sat on the tarmac for 15 minutes. There was very little communication. People were walking around in the dark looking for SOMEONE to answer questions. I was pretty happy when I saw my husband strolling towards me too.

Well written I must say and brought tears to my eyes...I was definitely "There" with you!
So glad that the outcome was good....I've been to Toronto Airport at least five times now in my lifetime and I must say I saw huge improvement when I went last summer with signage etc but it is so huge that I can how it would be confusing with no lights or power...I am so glad you made it through and it is over now!
Take Care

Oh, man! Tell me about the storms! Yesterday, we had another deluge of Biblical proportions here in Hamilton.

Hi patgalca! we are experiencing a typhoon here in our country at the moment. It has been like this since the rainy season begun. Most of the time, I just stay home when typhoons hit our country specially my area as I stocked up on essentials days before. I hope that it won't get stronger because it causes a lot of damage in our country and I am sure it does have the same effect in yours too. And I usually avoid traveling especially by air during the rainy season because it is very inconvenient to be stuck in the airport for long hours.
Take care always..God Bless!

I know you experience worse storms where you are but this was a first for me. I just felt so helpless sitting alone in a darkened airport. Here I was worried whether my husband was coming home, to wondering whether he was going to make it home alive! Thanks for your support.

Hi dear friend! I will feel so scared too if I were in your shoes. I really don't like the dark especially if I will be in a dark airport or any dark building waiting for my husband in the middle of a storm. I am just glad that everything is all right now and your husband is back with you safely.
Take care always..God Bless!

i think all of this has something to do with global warming. changing weather and climates. even here in the philippines, we suddenly have tornadoes which is not normal in our place. this are all alarming.
