Liu xiang persevance

i watched it happen on tv..and i felt so bad for the guy, he came out and he tried, but you could see the pain on his face. i think they said something about damage to where the achilles tendon attaches to the heel..something like that. a very painful and bad injury to make a race attempt on..much less even try to get out of the starting blocks. i think he did a good thing in coming out to the track and making the attempt to run. i could have just staying in the locker rooms (or whatever they are called) and have his coach inform the track officials. but he wanted to show his countrymen that he took their faith in him seriously, and that he WANTED to be able to run for them...he just physically coundnt. heart and soul were ready, but the body wasnt.
