Do you use your ham radio just for fun or do you participate in a Public service organization like RACES or ARES? Do you assist in public events such as marathons ans other major events?

I use my radio for both fun and public service. I've provided communications for the LA Marathon, AC 100 Mile Endurance Run, the Rose Parade and many smaller community events. I am a member of LA County Disaster Communications Service and a few other volunteer emergency response teams.
