Mine is 'The Sleeping Beauty'. I think it's my favourite because it was the first book my dad bought me. I still remember how I used to look at the pictures in it and try to draw princesses with beautiful gowns. I cherish that book and still have it..It's like some 20 years back...
So what's yours? And why?

Fairy tales...umm, If Harry Potter's considered one - it does satisfy most of the conditions of fairy tales - the only thing is that, it has struck up such popularity, that many people tend to believe it a truth and try find out some sort of any possible sources which could make them see what they wanna believe!
Apart from this, I had read the fairy tales in my childhood, but I remember, not one full story - just the crux - but if I remember the crux, I don't remember the name. I guess, I liked Rapunzel - isn't she the one who had very very long hairs and used them for the hero?

I always liked the story of the Ugly Duckling. I was sad when he was picked on and laughed at by the other ducks, but in the end he outshone them all by growing into a magnificent swan. He was not really a duck at all!
I was also picked on and laughed at as a child, because I was not the same as the other children. I wasn't ugly and I didn't grow up to be beautiful, but I did grow up knowing not to judge anyone for being somehow different.
It's better to be true to who you are than to try and please the crowd.

Yeah, i remember that one too...it was really sad that no one cared for the 'Ugly Duckling'...
I so understand you! I used to feel like that too... I was a kid..not pretty nor so..just a kid.. when i grew up i changed a lot..i believe i became pretty and it counted so much for me then..to have changed into a pretty girl. But now i simply don't care much...so what if am not pretty..at least i have a human heart unlike some 'beauties' who are stone hearted..
Thanx for sharing dear!

I loved Fairy tales and I still do love them now.I have got a few favourites, like Cinderella, the Little Mermaid and of course, Snow White. But Beauty and the Beast has a special place in my heart.
I recalled the time when I first saw the cartoon version of it and was horrified at the Beast. In my head at that time, was wondering how can a princess be with an ugly beast?
After my mum explained the moral of the story, then I understood. First impression lasts, and the lesson behind the fairy tale remains close to my heart till now.

My favourite one is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Like you, that was the first fairy tale I've read; and today, I'm still waiting this cartoon with my nephews and niece. And I love all the Seven Dwarfs, especially Dopey, the clumsy one!

I think it must be a fairy tale..it doesn't matter as long as you liked it.
Maybe it's every adults' dream...they all wish they remained kids..I know i do wish i was still the innocent little kid...with no fear and no challenges in everyday life...hmm...at least we have the tales and their souvenir to hang to :)
Thanx!

Dear friend,
I used to read fairy tale during my school days and at that time I used to Alice in Wonderland few times and that too a book with much of its pictures and I liked it during that time and even had two copies of this book one in comic version and one in story version with less pictures. I hope this would be my favourite during my childhood and may be even now.
